Lescaret sent a Post Toasty

Post by sooZen » February 27th, 2005, 1:39 am

Went to my PO Box today and found this:

Pale Male is even there.

Thanks Les, you made me smile, big time.

I love post cards and especially one that someone handmade for me! I will return the smile and the favor and put you on my gypsy tent travel list.

Does anyone else here make or send postcards? It is one of my addictions...I don't make many anymore but I love the goofy tourist ones and buy and send them every time I am out of town.

Peace,
SooZen

your other half sent me a bunch of postcards with his work on them. They are really impressive. I never got round to sending something in return as a thank you.

I did buy a postcard to send him but it's still sitting on my desk

It has a picture of my favourite building in glasgow; the city chambers. it's the most incredible looking, omnimpotent building, guarded by concrete lions and puncturing the sky with domes and towers above george square in the city.

My city chambers photos:

One of the lions guarding the building (just in case you thought I was just waxing poetical without reason)

here's a picture of the front of the building:

We have some incredibly goofy ribald post cards on these islands

Bennie,

I wish you'd send that postcard dammit! Hah!

That is a really impressive looking building, especially the lions with their scottish chiseled contenances.

Those ribald postcards would be cool. Around these parts we have the dumb as a bucket of rocks cowboy postcards. I will be happy to mail you one of those after my next trip to the dumb as a bucket of rocks cowboy postcard place...I usually don't keep them on hand. I could also mail you a Texas sized Texas postcard...but I am holding out until I get one from teeny Scotland. heh.

Now tell me, did you write all those reviews, just some of them or one or two? I would just love to read your review(s) but there is an awful lot of stuff there and my time is fleeting.

Peace,
SooZen

BTW, my other 'whole' Hah!, sent me some of his post cards when I had to go to SC to visit my ailing daddy for weeks... I made him promise to do that...I got messages on the back like, "how's this? Love, Cecil" harumph! He's supposed to be a writer... I put them in my journal for safekeeping. Hah!

wuw, okay, then.

I'll pick a few reviews for you to read. I wrote all the ones with my name next to them. What? Do you think I have a ghostwriter?

the website is fucking frames based so these links will just open as the body frame. You won't be able to navigate around them.

and here's the only live review I've written for them

http://www.elevationstation.net/Reviews ... astarr.htm

Philip Larkin wrote reviews too, you know. He wrote Jazz reviews.

Philip Larkin - This Be The Verse

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.
well I write music review so I do:

Ah ha, it arrived. Excellent, I'm glad it brought a smile to your face, Soozen. Irie!

I've been away all weekend, back in NYC visiting the Gates one more time before they pass into history & photographic imagery. I'll post more on that later.
