i truly appreciate your consideration
it's hard enough to talk politics when you're in the middle of what's happening, but talking politics when you're learning it all from the media is not my thing.

i can't talk american politics
and i like my own politics televised live from my back door.

we all have our sensitive zones - and mine is trying to explain why i've got a lot of optimisim in a situation with a lot of falling rafters.

meanwhile - yeah, rap back to lyrics
there's a word jam this weekend at the
http://www.scroll.org

maybe the words will help us discuss in a non-combative environment

judih (peace to you, eric)

Hi Eric.

Welcome to Studio Eight, where the software hopefully runs more smoothly, where the talk is sweet and the air is clean and where we love the arts, including music ... :)

Rap on about politics if you want but let me direct you to where you will find those posts.

If you scroll down, you will see the Culture forum where many articles about politics are posted. There is also LR's column in the Columns category which includes, as well, Michael's Sound Off! column which you might want to take a look at. Other political discussions do sometimes take place on this General Discussion's board.... the Anti-Academy in the Studios might have a few, too.

Nice to see you here.

Please feel free to join us tomorrow for the Word Jam... (link in judih's post)...

-------------

judih.... be safe... please... we love you.

Well all ill say is that i don't attack people for their political beliefs.
I hate what the israeli government does and I hate what the Palestineans do. I hate what my government does and I hate how im demonized cause I don't blindly fall in line, sucking on my freedom fries, with my "resolve" (not the carpet cleaner) and all that jazz.

Arg.

Ill just sit quietly in the ambience of my annonimity, waiting to pounce on the first beacon of inspiration that i come across.

Ive seen your interview on Lr's homepage doreen. Nice to meet ya as well.

Hi Loudestenemy. Welcome.

I am mousethatroared.
Shout at me sometime. I'll roar back. :)
Actually I roar not at all, that's all bluster and bs, but I am pleased to meet you.

I hate politics so you may want to avoid me if you want intelligent conversation.

Well basically im 24 years old from a pine farm in Arkansas USA.

I have an interest in music that was since birth, I have been actively making music and writing poetry for 10 years.

I got my start on the drums at age 5 and a violin in 5th grade. WHen my grandfather died I bought a bass and an amp and started transferring some of the basslines that i was learning on the guitar to a real bass. From there I spent the next 10 years writing and learning my trade, and aquiring instruments. SO far i can express myself to a good degree with Bass, guitar, percussion, vocals, trumpet, sax, keyboards harmonica, whatever i can get my hands on. I have dabbles with a violin and an accordion and basically i reward myself with 1 or more musical instruments when i get a job lololol. I try to compose music in virtually every style of music, from rock ballads to freeform jazz and even a few hillbilly sounding country jams just to be on the funny side. I have written raps and experimented with electronica, and even funk and just about everything in between. I even have been working on meditation tones and a classical sounding score. I want to get into filmscoring and poetry videos, and im writing a film 1 line at a time.
I woke up this morning with a great shot idea in my head lolol.

RIght now i have a passion for Vintage instruments, and my fathers early Fender Rhodes Suitcase piano has a glorious MicroMoog synthisizer on it. Its the greatest rig in the world as far as im concerned lolololol. I just can't get over my passion for vintage synths lolol. (As long as its a Moog) hahaha. Okay so im prejuduce....sue me. (don't make me include photos) lol

Aside from music and poetry i have written a few short stories, and I have some artistic photographs and I shot my very first ever music video in my first ever attempt, in 1 continuous take with a video camera that i just bought.

I have never sold a record because i just give a copy to anyone that wants them. I have 50 songs on cd and alot more that have yet to be completed and even more still that I haven't written yet lolol.

Basically my joy is making records and i really don't have the desire to ply in front of people, though i have done it before and have made money doing it before. I despise poetry slams because in the ones that ive been to its just a bunch of posers.

My friend had a great idea about goig to a poerty slam with a poem about how the people that seriously compete in poetry slams are just posers and wannabe's lololol.

I don't think there is a better poet than anyone else, if you can achieve your emotional goal with a corny poem then you are as true to yourself as Ginsberg.

I thought that I woudl take LR's advice and see whats happening around here.

We used to have a fender rhodes ('79) till we had to sell it to pay off some nasty debts (jazz band breakup).
Great memories of that piano.

Who's your father?

Posted: March 8th, 2005, 7:22 pm
by Loudestenemy
In my eyes, my father is an undiscovered jazz legend. He's a classically trained jazz pianist of 52 years from Niagara Falls, NY. He used to tour in canada in the 70's and Art Blakey gave my cousin (who was playing in a band with him at the time) his address in NYC to go to his studio. Of corse he never did, He did though get his picture taken with Liberace at a high school.

He currently performs locally in the Arkansas areas. I have seen shitty rock bands get paid more money than him and i find it disgusting. I have some recordings that he has made.

(I just had a dream that he had a 1958 fender rhodes...of corse they didn't make them like that but i was playing the crap out of it nontheles)
