Does anybody here use the Opera browser?

I just downloaded it and it's too strange.... gotta scroll down to the middle the page to see the top banner and I can't log in using it.

Just wondering if anybody else uses it and has similar problems with it.

I downloaded it 'cause I heard it was a good browser with a built-in mail system and other features I wanted to explore.

hi doreen

i'm using opera and am not having any problems with it.

there are a few microsoft-based sites that can't be viewed properly using it (ms doesn't dig anybody using different browsers), like hotmail and, strangely enough, our own site, www.rhei.de (must be a microsoft-based software i built it with), but that's not a big deal... when i come across such a site, i simply view it with ie, which is still installed on my puter.

... must run. off to another day at the fair now!

May the fair go well, anemone

no opera here, but i have mozilla firefox and i have some probs with it but any time i do i ask my son for advice - he's the one that recommended it... mozilla also has a mail deal - thunderbird which i like because it filters out the junk and spam quite well... something that brought me to mozilla in the first place.

i like mozilla firefox, as well

in 6 months there has been exactly one page i couldn't open with it...in that case i used netscape

the only thing i don't like about it is that, when working in certain chat boards, messages already viewed don't permanently change to a different colour, so i can track what i've read and what i haven't

yo firefox is the way to go. opera is crazy - it costs money if you want to kill the ad space in the top of the window. firefox is faster anyway.

the reason that some sites dont look happy with firefox is because they arent standards-compliant. if a site looks funky in firefox it's because it's using html code that probably only works in explorer. more sites are recognizing that they shouldnt write code just for explorer, as their market share is slowly but surely shrinking.

mozilla is just like firefox except has the full suite - browser, email, newsgroups, chat. so if you're looking for everything, just use mozilla. opera is pretty cool except for the fact that it's really not free.

opera is free if you don't mind the small ad in the upper right third of the menu border (or however that is called in english).

i don't even see it anymore.
