THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT

Post by sooZen » March 16th, 2018, 10:51 am

The LONG view is what Stephen Hawking's brilliant mind took in account and many of his warnings/predictions about the future should certainly be considered by any thinking being. We are now in the age of Anthropocene (human accelerated caused environmental change) and our and all other species existence are at a balancing point. For some, it may be too late...the white Rhino, cheetahs, (the list is long) and most worrisome of all...bees... without which nothing living will exist.

In the SHORT view...most are oblivious or not doing anything to make a difference on this fragile world we live in. We are too caught up in our own ego-concentric games be they politics at the lowest levels, religions (who is in...who is out), money and power (try taking that with you when you die) or just thinking that Nature is something "out there" that is "out to get you" or scare you silly i.e.bugs, snakes or man eating ______ (fill in the blank).

Every single creation of Nature is here for a reason and all are interconnected be it a "weed" or a mosquito. We (the teeming masses) are pretty much only concerned with the flavor of the moment without Stephen's LONG view... I am certainly hopeful that enough care enough and have the foresightedness to save our planet or move on to create other environments where we can exist. The signs aren't good right now for that to happen but we certainly live in a magical world where ANYTHING is possible!

My mantras...look up, walk in nature, question all, and seek the truth...
Today the moon is in Pieces, a water sign and a good planting day so that is my plan. For further reading on Hawking's views on our future...this is his take:

Blessings are something that it would seem must be sought-
And I have read plenty about me hawk- I appreciate people noticing him right now : I do really—
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

With the rise of machines and money, the wall between "us" and "nature" indeed was built fairly quickly-- similar to how walls between ourselves were built with the rise of religious dogma earlier. The idea of settling other planets-- while a valid take on our situation-- still gives me a skeptical chuckle. Makes me think of that bumper sticker I saw on a gigantic truck one time--"Earth First! (We'll log the other planets later)"... Good points/thoughts, Soozen.

That article pretty much says it all Mark. "Of all the mammals on Earth, 96% are livestock and humans, only 4% are wild mammals..." Like any mutation (which we are), we are changing our environment to suit us but stupidly, we are hastening our own demise.

In Chile by the southern tip - waving to New Zealand with flamingos and foxes both red and gray-
The town was 4 square blocks and the straight- where huge ships took Chilean sea bass to mortons where movie stars paid 500$ a pound- after he had gotten his fill
Of king crab and sea bass he turned to ice cream and soy churros- it was like he had the Midas touch-
And yet he noticed what was going on in his workers lives- once his father bet everything in a casino to pay the workers-
But the son has something spiritual- some beautiful heart that only a real friend could understand- someone that would love and protect him from the angry greedy world- even if she loved to shop- she displays humility is always welcoming to all people and never over exerts her position- the lover has to be committed to love - like Jesus- or healing or a charity-
Truth be told he was quite happy - this is an unusual thing for many people- Italian ice cream that is in the first class lounge of the Airport
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
