"Life is tough, and it is tougher if you are stupid" —John Wayne
“This shows how the Green New Deal would be a deadly deal,” Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas said Wednesday on Fox News. Pointing to snow-covered solar panels, Rick Perry, a former governor who was later an energy secretary for the Trump administration, declared in a tweet “that if we humans want to keep surviving frigid winters, we are going to have to keep burning natural gas — and lots of it — for decades to come.”

sure miss Molly Ivins...she was a gem....Jim Hightower still doin his thing....my ex sister in law is in San Antonio....seems to like it there.....a bit too religious for me, but then again maybe that's how she gets by....being a politician should require acting school...because that is the only skill you really need......you need to deliver the lies like you might get an academy award from your rich benefactors...

Texans I have loved

Texans I have loved, the bear.
Bummed five cigarettes from the bear
when he was a young man his biker friends called him "Bear"
married now to my little sister
I am so grateful she has a husband, she is a woman who needs a man, one who will drive her crazy, and she can take care of him,
Watched Gunsmoke today, Matt Dillion reminds me of my beloved brother in law............
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
you need to deliver the lies like you might get an academy award from your rich benefactors...
you also need doublethink
you need orthodoxy

there is a religious element in their madness
orthodoxy is unconsciousness

I have a recording of this piece of hers taken from "Selected Shorts", NPR's podcast of professionally read fiction, etc. Unfortunately, it's too big to upload, and I can't find the original broadcast online. But it's worth a read.....

Good thing we’ve still got politics in Texas—finest form of free entertainment ever invented.
thanks for that kink.
The Texas sense of humor is a Texan's most redeeming quality
some people say god is a Realtor™, but I think Texas is also holy land.
After forty years living here I still feel like a manchild in the promised land.
Sorry Molly, but I am way past being amused with the republican party. :!:
