was just about to post something similar - I'll do so here:

According to CNN, heavily armed Hamas terrorists are swarming across the Gaza border into civilian areas of Israel as part of their assault. One of the affected settlements is the kibbutz Nir-Oz, where Judih Haggai - our judih - lives. I have not heard anything directly from her. All I know is that the situation looks dire, and about all we can do is hope somehow for the best. Not much else to say at this time.

Update (10/7, 19:30): My 2nd cousin once removed, Judih Weinstein Haggai and her husband are missing. They live on Kibbutz Nir Oz on the Gaza border that was infiltrated by terrorists and were out for a walk in the morning when the missiles started. The last we heard they were lying down while rockets flew over them. Hoping against hope for their safe return.

Judih!You and your family in my prayers since yesterday I can't believe the dinension of the facts... There are 3 argentinian living in Nir Oz also reported as dissapeared (the only word shocks me).

There is still no news. We wait and hope and pray she is safe.

Nir Oz was hit hard.

It sits right on the border with Gaza. Would have been the 1st place for the invaders to vent their wrath.

I was very concerned the moment I heard the news, but was unable to respond here until now.....I'm going to try and stay optomistic and believe they are hiding, because the alternative is too dreadful to contemplate as this moment......I'm sending such positive thoughts into the universe and will continue to......my problems personally seem so utterly trivial at this time.....I long for a good story right about now......

My family and I are also worried about Judih and her folks. We've prayed very hard for their safety. I was afraid to even try to post because of where
she was located. I am very sad about this horrible situation. I hope that she and her people have not been taken hostage or something horrible to
contemplate. Please Lord, give them strength. I know of several people in the Negev desert--the Hamas even attacked people at a music festival!

You all are the greatest for being here together! I don’t know what to say other than I appreciate and love you all and I am holding onto hope for some positive news about Judih! We all love her sooo much!

For me this is sorrow. I've been waiting for reports from the epicenter, and so far nothing specific about Nir Oz, though what I read today about what happened at the next village up the road gives me no comfort.

Why do we do this to ourselves?

I remember one of our last online chats. We talked about cancer, her brother had been afflicted as have I. Her response to me was..."you kick that mother f****r to the curb.
