you've all seen the movie, right? so the guy psychologically creates his ideal.... the guy who looks like he wants to look, who thinks like he wants to think, who fucks like he wants to fuck. and he unknowingly melds minds with this character in a brilliant, savage, shocking plot that walks a tightrope between self-creation and self-destruction.
if you built your own Tyler Durden... your better version of you... what would that look like ... do... be called?

Maxine Sorrow.
and she'd have big, fuckoff, messy as hell Janis Joplin hair. Kurt Cobain's underlined eyes. and the integrity of Patti Smith.

First of all....those of you who haven't see 'Fight Club' are seriously missing out on a great film. The book is better, of course.
and Kari, it wouldnt be your own Tyler. It would be your own Jack.
My alter ego was named by my friends, his name is midnite Ronnie.
He loves to fight. He loves to fuck. He's always making the hard desicions for me. If it wasn't for him, I would still be wearing coke bottle glasses and getting pushed around.

seen the movie several times, dig the message
I think Tyler Durden is the archtype of one who
has broken down all their filters of conditioning
or at least most of them, so my Tyler Durden would be...
Tyler Durden.
Not that I want to carry out some revolutionary action
such as disabling all credit companies
(that's a lie, I really do want to carry out some revolutionary action
I just haven't figured out what it is yet)
because such an action only represents conditioned filters
I dunno, I think it's impossible to know exactly what our
Tyler-based alter ego would be like, just like the Edward
Norton character had no idea what he was creating or how or why.
It would have to be something created completely subconciously
for it to be authentic. Borne of necessity, not desire.
I hope to create it some day, but am a little frightened
of the possible ramifications.
I want to say "ahh fuck it" and in the spirit of the thread create some hypothetical alter ego, but I have no idea what it would be like.
