Greetings from the west coast
I made it! What a trip. I slept only ten or so hours because I just didnt want to miss a thing. I left on Monday at around eleven in the morning, and arrived in Astoria last night at 8pm. Hester is awesome. I met furnish for a brief second but just couldnt keep my eyes open. Now |I am off to walk the streets of this fan fucking tastic looking community. I already feel at home. I am surrounded by water. I have a nice long written documentation of the trip out here that I will post as soon as I feel like it. So wish me luck! It is time to go and find a job.......

sweet.......I already got a job. I applied yesterday and they loved me. They just called and asked me to come in today to interview with the owner. I got it. So thats one obstacle down and no more to go. This place is the perfect place to work. It's an artsy cafe with a real poetic vibe, lots of young artists. Working here will allow me to meet the core of the local scene, I imagine. Plus, it's only a ten minute walk down the mountain from Hesters. Excellent (mr. burns)
Everyone I have met so far is beyond friendly. It's very strange, at first. I'm used to snobby frenchmen from Quebec and New Yorkers who walk over you if you stop to tie your shoe. I havent seen the ocean yet, it takes a bus and I need the job first. I took some great photos on the way out here, especially of Mt. Hood, the volcano. I'll get them posted wwhen I get them developed, after my first paycheck, of course.

Indeed, Yab has arrived and taken Astoria by storm. Already a job interview at downtown's hippest cafe! (I can't stop calling him Yab.)
A fellow Gemini. I think we'll breeze around each other just fine.....
and Stella gave me a definite thumb up on him.
I also got to meet Kari via the phone! I can't describe the way it felt to hear her voice....like a ghost I adore, taking form finally!
One of these days we'll just have to have an open house week for all you studio eight visitors to come to.
Wouldn't that be just fine.
It's good to have a roomer here, it will help me out alot. Maybe i'll get the rent caught up.
All due to this studio.
The wonders of the internet.
I'm really grateful.
