How many emails do you exchange every day?

I received 48 emails today from people I work regarding work projects. I answered all 48. I just counted them. Some were to discuss projects. Some were to resolve problems. Some were to exchange files. How I fit in all the work in between the emails amazes me. (Not that writing the emails themselves weren't work.)
In addition to that, .... I sent out 4 personal emails.
This was more than the usual. I guess my average work email exchange every day is approximately 25-30 emails. If you divide 25 emails into an 8 hour day, how many emails is that per hour? A little over 3. That's one at least every 20 minutes.
Today, 48 emails divided into 10 hours... that's almost 5 per hour.
How do people keep up?
Is this a normal email workflow for those of you who have jobs which entail working on the computer?
How many emails do you exchange every day?
Just curious.

God damn, Doreen. I send out between 1-5 per seven day week.
I recieve the same amount, excluding junk. I basically send and mail to, the same group of people. If I had to deal with the volume of mail that you do, I would go fucking insane. I guess this is why I don't own a computer. (who am I kidding.....I'm just broke)

hi hest.... you don't have a job which entails communication on the computer...... I envy you.
5 emails a week? ahhhhh.... that would be delightful.
I'm happy to say that I love to exchange emails with you!
If I had to deal with the volume of mail I do, I'd go fucking insane, too.
LOL!
So, now we're getting somewhere! I'm not just nuts to think this is a lot? *whew* I'm nuts BECAUSE it is a lot!
That explains a LOT!

Well, my answer is exactly the same as Hesters. Because I wrote it. But she agrees with my answer except for the not owning a computer part. She owns a computer. In fact, it's her computer that I am on, always to frigan unaware to check and see what screen name is signed in. It's funny. But I seriously have to get a grip on this whole sharing of the computer.

LOL!!
I wondered why hest said she didn't own a computer.
I thought she meant she had a borrowed one or something...
but it was YOU the whole time! lol
well, I love exchanging emails with you, too, my dear
So, email me some time, ok?
(I know all about this sharing computers thing... this who's logged on problem used to happen to us all the time .... now when we're using the computers, we sit at different machines across the room from each other... what fun, eh? Isn't that romantic? But here's a tip... after you log out with one name, there's a button you can click to tell the browser to remember you when you come back to the site... don't click that button... both of you.. so the browser doesn't remember either of your names when you hit the site the next time and you will have to log in in order to post... i think it works like that anyway... but no matter what, i'll remember you both.... always... how could i forget?

I can't count the times I have posted as doreen and then had to go and delete. She gets so mad. She can't stand the thought of my terrible writing being attributed to her.
Sharing a computer can be taxing. Just like sharing a bathroom.
Back to the original topic:
I get emails about work and ones about cheap available drugs and lonely women looking for love and from desperate people in Kenya who have 3o million dollars in a bank account that they need to have transferred to the United States and petitions for every cause under the sun and chain letters and forwards and it's enough to drive you crazy.
Then you get an email from someone that you actually know. They tell you something personal. Then you see what a mracle it is.

four of five per day. But I prefer to phone the local people instead of writing the mail back.

I know that is why you don’t use hardly any emoticons hip shot.

Wont email you at world head quarters again, I know you are busy, that is why I said no need to reply, but just like a woman you wouldn’t shut up. {put a scared shitless because I hope you are smiling when you read that emoticon here.) it is that venus/mars syndrome I was checking out, you heard me I heard you, “if everything is right with me and you let the world call me a fool,” Old Waylon so you all and wireman be going to do anything at sowebo again. Got any long range plans?

Jesus, Jack... you take everything so personally. I included your email in the list of the 4 personal emails which I WANTED to receive and send.
If you read my original post, you will see that I am talking about the heavy email WORKload I deal with daily. I'm talking about my work.
Exchanging emails with friends is different. I enjoy that.
I enjoy my work, too, most of the time, but I don't enjoy the number of emails it takes to communicate with each other about various projects I am responsible for.
Don't be so damn sensitive, ok?
Read the post again. Don't read between the lines.
Thanks.

Yes he does
He has crazy mike's sense of humor
And he is crazy too
Just like having a bad leg, but you got to limp along to where you want to go. If that ain't good enough please pull the plug because I bet you take stuff personal too, and you don't hear everything I say either. so that is why I can't enlighten you when I am rocking and rolling on creative or go. Crazy jack asked you please pull the plug. He wants to go join the lazy bear in the happy hunting grounds. I promise you crazy jack will not be back
if we can move on from here I would love to
but other wise please pull the plug
I spend too much time here as it is
hardly enough time to choke a chicken
pull the plug or move on?
