never mind...you mean this is there stuff, your not in it...woops, spoke before i thought...not like that hasn't happened before.

no, I wasn't playing with them.

but it's some of the same people that were in the band in 1970

I used to play bass and flute and sax with them. Joey, the harp player is one of my oldest friends and mentors.

can you play any jethrotull? and can you play a whole concert without stoping just going from one song to the next standing on one foot? listening to "Something" by the Beatles (George Harrison really)

people put so much imphasis on the importance and freedom that comes from being young, but you know what i think, i think older people have just as much if not more, they don't have to worry about their coreeres because they've already peaked, no one is there watching over them like a parental figure...etc

The first band I played with was The Brandy Creek Ramblers, in 1963. I played acoustic string bass and sang baritone parts. In between then and now was everything from Businessman's Bounce to electric country to rock n' roll ( Beatles clone-cover style) to old-time to ragtime to swing to sound-track classical and accompanying sopranos on nylon-string guitar to full-bustin' bluegrass on the Fourth of July.

I was offstage for about two years and recently recruited again to The Polecat Ramblers, a trio with two wonderful players-- a guitar-banjo-slide, etc.. guy who sings great old-time Charlie Poole Stuff and knows tunes by bands like The Mudcat Groaners and R. Crumb's Cheap Suit Serenaders. The leader of the band is my old friend, the fiddler/accordionist/guitarist/ singer David Roine, late of the Zydeco Clippers, among a dozen others:

I play ( you guessed it) mandolin and guitar and, of course, sing.

Durn it-- I wish I had sound capacity on my computer and could hear some of the fine music you post regularly.
