All these works were submitted over the Web with no concern about who’s who except for their email moniker. I didn’t know a single poet, and I enjoyed every poem. Here’s words in your face!….

I think it's great the book got mentioned!

I think it's an excellent book!

It was this sentence that I found odd, though.

"All these works were submitted over the Web with no concern about who’s who except for their email moniker."

*shrug* ... maybe it's not an odd sentence? Maybe it's just me.

There are bios in there for each poet and I thought they did a great job making sure all of the contributers were mentioned..... definitely distinguishing them with a "who's who," including publishing credits, etc.

Just wondered what others thought about that sentence, that's all.

That brief review gave the impression that the reviewer hadn't looked seriously at the book - certainly managed to bypass the step of checking cover to cover.

about.com is a network with all kinds of sites. i've always liked holistic healing and in the old days truly enjoyed a fascinating, constantly updated ADD forum. But these days, the About.com moniker doesn't automatically signify utter quality.

The reviewer granted the book less than full attention, clearly.

I don't quite understand the suggestions to "move on." It has nothing to do with "moving on."

Life is about moving on. We all move on every day and often every minute of the day.

I was just questioning the review since it made all the contributers sound like anonymous internet users, rather than the accomplished poets that they are. Just because the reviewer hadn't heard of any of the names, doesn't mean the writers are anonymous unaccomplished internet users who just happened to contribute to an anthology of poetry by pushing the post button.

Cecil - Yeah, that's why I added the question, "is it just me?" You didn't think twice about the sentence.

As I said, I love the book and would have liked to have seen a better, more thorough, review. Maybe there are such reviews out there and I just haven't seen them. Maybe the book will be reviewed again some time by someone who takes the time to read it more thoroughly.

And no, I'm not interested in creating an anthology for print publication at this time or maybe ever. I've been moving away from print. Especially self-published printed material. I've worked in print for a lot of years. I self published 3 books and give them away. It's a lot of work.

If any of us who frequent this website decide to put our work together and create a manuscript, perhaps we would consider sending it off to publishers for consideration, rather than self-publishing it. One day, maybe. Frankly, I'm having a difficult time finding publishers who accept any poetry manuscripts at all so I can submit my own work (other than contests, which I'm not interested in, either).

But I AM really interested in creating an anthology for internet publication which continually changes (like these boards), but where artists and writers and musicians have their own spots on the site to continually add content and get public reply. That's the goal, for now.

Hester thinks alot like Judih. The guy didn't really read the book.

Why should he? The content gets lost due to the crappy, cheap presentation, thank you Levi and Firecracker and Jamelah for your lack of savy there. They chould have hired a decent artist for it, but that prolly would have cost too much.....for a bunch of nameless yokels on the idiotnet. At least, that's how it seems they felt about the project......when you look at that ugly book.
Sorry for the delayed reply, but i've been too brokenhearted about life in general to do anything much but walk around in a stupor.
Just took 5 garbage bags full of dirty beercans and moldy dishes, (my dishes!), that I found in the garage to safeway. Got about six dollars for it! Wow! I'm so lucky.
