Give me all your models, please.

I've rapped on in the past about systems and models and what not, such as System 8 (which I consider a system for sucess) -- A, A, B, B, W, W, K, T
Attitude
Attitude (Maintain it)
Be on time
Be prepared
Work smart, not hard
Work steady, not fast
Know what you want and where you are going.
Take control
n.b. I've changed it slightly from what I originally learned, call it licence.
I recently learned about these things called the 4 ego reactions. They are to blame; deny; justify; and quit.
Things like this, once learned, have the capacity to change your life (re: system 8 ) or simply become noticable everywhere or in every interaction (re: ego reactions). Come to think of it, a tidy collection of such models could well be the future of morality, collective success and happiness.
So, without the lengthy prelude or detailed explanation, give me all your little models such as these that stand on their own. I'm sure there must be many out there.
Hell, there's the Ten Commandments, which represent a model of which I speak, as do the 7 deadly sins. There's the TRUST acronym (used with children): Think before doing; Respect self and others; Use common sense; Speak the truth; Take responsibility. There's the SHAPE acronym (describes a person's shape): Skills; Heart; Abilities; Personality; Experience.
So I'm sure you know many more,
Thankyou in deed,
Rat Bag

how a bout this for a model:
there are no rules
heh
aloft in material extacy
above below around the void
bound to an iron maiden by your own limbs
beyond love and hate there is a cool sea of darkness
where those who dwell there flourish like diamonds
while the people above wither in their own tactics
knowledge, control and intelligence lead to success?
those are only traps, for there are no rules

Traveller...."wither in their own tactics" I like! I think I have done that!
I'm partial to the no rules model myself.....tends not to be as restrictive.....and is less lackadaisical. Works for me.

I wonder if that's why I'm not a success!!!!
The only model I really follow is to not tax my brain too much following models....unless they're of the male runway type....nudge nudge

! A brain is a small thing to waste!
I hope I was of some assistance tho I rather doubt I was.

pfft! no rules
what a rebel you are
hey I dream of utopian anarchy as much as the next dreamer of utopian anarchy
but think carefully before you dismiss such golden references as the ego reactions
they may very well represent an evolutionary precursor to a collective mind-state that is fertile for utopian anarchy
system 8, the 10 commandments, hey take em or leave em for all I care
but at least pay the ego reactions some mind
and share your got damn models with me
bloody hold-outs!
trying to be aloof and mysterious and come off all tough with your no rules business
give me your models

I obey the same rules that apply to that hummingbird.
It is a well know fact among aeronautical engineers that humming birds can't fly. check it out. Something about wing span body weight, rate of metablism etc. I remember hearing that in college. But that was about a 100 years ago. Maybe that mystery has been solved.

Collective mind states give me the He Be G B's

The Golden Rule is always applicable..... and I don't mean its popular (alternate) interpretation, always in vogue, namely, "Do unto others before they do unto you".... (a model for corporate success and US foreign policy for decades)....
or the other Golden Rule.... "A beer a day keeps the doctor away".....

I don't consider myself an anarchist Ratbag, or at least not as most people define it.
Nor was I talking about anarchy or politics.
Nor am I calling ego reactions evil, or good.
I haven't got rid of my ego yet but I like to talk like this sometimes.
[the ego reactions] may very well represent an evolutionary precursor to a collective mind-state that is fertile for utopian anarchy
Your definitions of "evolved" and "fertile" aren't universal, they are your definitions and based on your values. Which is why I won't argue with that. I could start a debate by analysing the situation according to my values and my definitions, but we'd be going in circles. You have your values, I have mine, and seeing one's values as true or false is merely referring to your own values.
I'm not looking for global utopia.
Or trying to force anything onto people. People can do what they want. They can follow or rebel against their goverment if they want, they can evolve or involve or devolve or move into vicious circles, ultimately it doesn't matter, there are no rules. People think they invent rules, but they aren't rules because they are never obliged to follow them.
What I'm looking for is myself. And since what you seem to call ego is preventing me to do that, my aim is to detach myself from it.
[those 2 last sentences are really twisted, when you think about it]
Which doesn't mean fighting it with a fiery sword or whatnot.
Am I making sense?

Last Tango In Paris, made a big impression on me. But maybe it was the acid. Marlon Brando to Maria Schneider.
"In forty years you will be kicking those around like soccer balls."
I was helping to take care of an old woman who was dieing, it is a very strange thing for a son to look at his mothers withered breasts.
I remember an article a woman wrote about Spalding Gray. She met him on a nude beach somewhere. He was her hero, she had to stop and talk to him. Tell him how much she admired him. During the conversation she said he never looked at her breasts. Even though she could not help taking a good look at his putz.
I don't know what works for me anymore. I haven't even tried since that freezing morning in february 1980 when it wasn't working. Maybe just because I was freezing in that room. I was shivering it was so cold. I should have started up the wood stove after it went out. The memory of me trying to get that shriveled little weenie into her still persists. The truth on the end of my fork.. Just how much of a dick head I was. Her look of disgust. I have had twenty five years to re virginify myself. Plenty of opportunites for me, but I have always ducked them, either fear of impotence or I just did not care enough for her to try.
Takes a strong attraction at my age. Just staring at a woman's breasts don't get it no more. Holding out for true love. Fat chance. I don't even care anymore. If you can believe that. I am resigned to being an old maiden uncle.
got dam I wish fingers would shut up.

Nighthawks at the Diner
Opening Introduction
Well, an inebriated good evening to you all. Welcome to Rapheal's Silver Cloud Lounge. Slip me a little crimson Jimson, give me the low down Brown, I want some scoop Betty Boop. I'm on my way into town.
Course I'd rather...want to thank you all for opening the program for us. I'm so God damn horny that the crack of dawn better be careful around me.
Yeah, I wanna pull on your coat about something here tonight. Yeah, a little news I'd like to throw your direction. See I...I used to know a girl, yeah and it was a hubber hubber and ding ding ding. I said 'Baby, you got everything.' A week later it was a hubber hubber and ding ding dong, baby it sure didn't last too long.
I know things are tough all over, ain't getting any better. I was moved, kind of swivel a little bit of a kind of an emotional weather forcast for you this evening. What I'm talking about is...well you know I've been playing night clubs and staying out all night long, come a home late, gone for three months, come back and everything in the refrigerator turns into a science project. So you get designs on a waitress you know. She got three or four kids, she's sorting out her cheques and she's counting out her change, you say 'Hey baby, heat me up a bearclaw on the radar range'. Well and then it gets real cold.
