Since Studio 8 has come into my life, well, i wouldn't want to go to any other Studio.

Studio C was and is very popular in Israel - but it's a mere exercise studio compared to Studio 8.

My friend Moshe Daboul's music studio is a grand studio, but what does it offer except superb recording and a brilliant artist and fascinating musicians wandering through and the occasional higher mind group experience? How does it compare? Nay, no! Hardly a toenail higher than a salute compared to Studio 8.

When i think roaring creativity, & active minds in those throes (yes, those throes), i think Studio 8.

My abs? My ass? well, yes, in a way, they too owe what they are and aren't to Studio 8.

Yes, LR, and I thank you in the name of our Lord.

StudioEight has greatly increased my ability to spread my personal philosophy, which is nearly identical with that of President Bush:

( to wit):

The invasion of any country which shows the slightest deviation from Our Truth, the Truth of Jesus the Conquerer. See the linked article from NPR (in 2003) which perfectly expresses my own views vis a vis the subsequent Iraq invasion:

http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/tra ... gerty.html

I particularly like the advocacy of electric shock and the use of branding and hot irons.

I further recommend other "persuasive" methods to cause these fallen away children of God to see things our way:

The Oubliette
The Iron Maiden
Branks and The Scold Bridle
St. Elmo's belt
The Judas Cradle

and

The Heretic's Fork

Those ought to "shake loose" a few of these Mow-Hammeden's loyalties.

Ever in the service of Our Lord and unswervingly loyal to president Bush and the subtle foreign policy he has pursued, I thank you for StudioEight and its forum for spreading my message of freedom wherever Communism, Islam or Presbyterianism still festers.

Studioeight is solely responsible for my flabby abs

and fat azz.

It also does my heart good to see that there are those

more crazy than me.

Studioeight allows me to stretch my insanity "to infinity and beyond"

seconds before it retracts and smacks me in the eye.

Studioeight provides me with the opportunity to blend into the crowd unnoticed in my unobtrusiveness.

Studioeight where an insignificant rodent can feel at home.

Oh ya...and we can write and post pictures and finger paint and doodle just like in kindergarden.

And a kinder garden there never was.

But there's some real nuts here......you might want to look into shelling them. Just a suggestion. 8)

Arcadia,

I think that was Kennedy who said, "Ask not what Studio Eight can do for you, ask what you can do for Studio Eight."

and also he said, "Suck it faster, Marilyn."

and, "Suck it slower, Monica." (no wait, that was Bill Clinton) :D

I don't know Clay
Kind of like group therapy for me I suppose
But what a group :!:
A group with out a group mind
No carbon copy personalities
Interesting people
Beautiful brothers and sisters
A very unique experience for me. The closest thing I have had to being on the road again.

What has studio eight done for me?

Well, for one thing, total acceptance of the ups, the downs, the laughs, the frowns....the creative, the music, the political insights and sharing of everything in a safe place.

I've found guidance here, guidance for my writing, guidance for my soul, guidance on respect for others.

A place where I can be real, and honest without too much flack.

A place to get weird, improvisational and in the moment without holding back.

A place to love people i've never even met in person!

A place to sing.

A place to just "be".

And that's just a few of things studio eight has done for me......

Now, without irony:

I thank Doreen and anyone else who has labored to guarantee me my ease-- in standing this Zlatko puppet up on my knee and buzzing a few words through his smiling, clenched teeth.

Thank you for the freedom of expression, and the vehicle ( this forum) to slide my note across the pewter plate at the world.

I thank you for the sensibility behind that guaranteed ease-- polite, affectionate, intelligent ( with very few exceptions-- and he's gone now) and open to new ideas and new packages for old ideas.

Studio Eight, to me, is a place where I can march out my lines across the electro-glass and watch for signs they have been read. All this is given to me free, by people I have never met, so I can "converse" with people I have never met.

Sounds twenty-first century.

This is a new medium for me ( I'll shut up in a second . . .), and I have developed a fondness for its fallibility. Odd combinations seem to arise unbidden here, and I suppose what I like most is the flexibility of those who gather on my screen to treat those combinations with tolerance, even fondness.

I love breaking out into laughter

and sometimes it feels right to be on the verge of tears

and rant and rave at people who tolerate me

To hang out with people who are beyond being hip

ok, without irony (fat chance, lrod)

could it be that S8 is a cyber playpen full of plump, slobbering babies?

I've been to other communities on the web. Some of them are hard on the eye and covered with billboards.
At some of them, there is endless insult and bickering.

I think we are blessed to have such a special community. Some of us have known each other for years, either personally or digitally. We have come to indulge each other's little quirks.

Knowing people on the internet is a bit like the old Zen tale of the cat and the knothole. You are looking through the knothole and the cat walks by on the other side of the fence. First you see his nose, and then his body and then his tail. Its is tempting to assume that the nose caused the tail. That's the fallacy of causality.

Communities happen of their own accord with no apparent causality. Doreen or I didn't cause Studio Eight, we just keep the ashtrays clean.

Like minds? Like souls? Birds of a feather? Who knows? I just know that we are lucky. Lucky to have each other.

I'm sure somebody stumbling into this site by accident or mistake would think we are a bunch of nuts. Well, of course we are a bunch of nuts. Not everyone would fit in here, but it helps if you are a misfit.

Sometimes it reminds me of the Book People in Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Waifs wandering in the wilderness chanting their personal mantras but still feeling the comradeship of the other wanderers.

Studio Eight is a rolling magazine/talk-show/nightclub/town hall meeting. Oh, fuck, it's just a neighborhood bar.

Cheers.

where there is a vaccuum there is work to be done.

i mean, where there is a vaccuum there is someone getting mad at me for it not being on and moving.

what i MEAN TO SAY is that where there is a vaccuum, the monkeys come to fill the void, somewhat after the great sucking sound. empty bowls fill up, the setting sun allows the stars, the clean water fills with poop (or walls, depending on the training of the monkeys).

mostly, i get to speak freely. i get to call anyone who voted for bush a moron, which isnt allowed everywhere you go.

if you voted for bush, you're a moron. vote for the monkeys. at least they know how to behave in church.
and knowing i'm so eager to fight cant make letting me in any easier.

firsty,

as you know, I am a firm believer in the power of monkeys

it's just something about their cheerful and methodical persistence

yes, the monkeys shall inherit the earth

let's make friends with them before it's too late
