a village

Post by Lightning Rod » October 20th, 2005, 12:54 am

Studio Eight is a village.

We are not a large community by internet standards. Of our 306 members, perhaps thirty of them are bots who have never posted. The rest of us are mostly connected by either real life encounters or have been acquainted for some time online. Relationships exist here that are long-lasting.

I don't think we will ever make history or sell ads, but we do share a special companionship.

It takes a village.

we just watched lenny about a month ago
it's one of my favorite movies

dustin hoffman nails lenny to the max
the first time I ever saw that movie
it was in a little art house
and they played it back to back with
a film of Lenny Bruce's live performances
hoffman is a master actor

he liked the self depricating humor as well to a certain extent, i put the dvd back and i realized how many movies i own that have similar tragic characters, one flew over, the big chill, fear and loathing in las vegas, midnight cowboy, easy rider, and even full metal jacket all seem to deal with the same sort of flawed character, that i have learned to respect in there own right.
