Thinking about some pole questions, those would be excellent pole questions.
Eric Clapton hell no
Jimmy Paige, lost in the ozone, geezer selective memory, no idea.
Faulkner, no
Vonnegut sure this one is really tough.
I been thinking about doing a pole about Crimes Against Humanity, Loss of innocence. When did you learn about crimes against humanity?
I never throw down when I am sober, but put a jim beam in my hand...

corso is not overrated. i dont see how any of the beats, save kerouac/burroughs/ginsberg can even be anywhere near overrated. not that they are overrated, but theyre the only ones who are even rated, generally. corso is definitely not overrated anyway.
theres a west coast?

Z-dub -- agree on rip torn, ronald reagan, dr. phil.
yabby -- disagree on sleep, tattoos, "sweet." agree on faith hill.
by the way, yabby, try this one on for size. . . whenever you get the urge to belt out a "sweet" exchange it for "nice." you might want to extend the "eye" sound like this "niiiiiiiiiice." or you can get crazy and go with "nishe." just a thought.
firsty -- are you saying kerouac is overrated? i'm not sure i'd disagree if you did.

i don't like corso thats all.
i like the word "sweet" as well and as of yet it has not become overrated for me.

on sweet and nice - nice is definitely the way to go. even have my kids saying it.
kerouac is not overrated. my point was that someone cant be overrated if theyre not someone considered highly rated. the only beats that can be considered highly rated are kerouac, burroughs and ginsberg. corso can not possibly be considered overrated, unless barely gaining footnotes in poetry history can be considered too high a rating for anyone.
and, no, kerouac is not overrated. neither is burroughs or ginsberg, in my opinion. but i cant categorically object to them being considered overrated in someone else's opinion, because they are generally rated "high." i categorically reject any other beat poet being overrated.

o.k here's what i'm saying....
among beat generation lovers.....Gregory Corso is given too much credit.
the general public doesn't even know who he is.
i feel at this rate i will be using the term "Sweet" untill the day i die.

Ronald Reagan ( US President)- over-rated
Is that understated?
He made us feel so good about ourselves again didn't he.
I remember watching those festivities for the reopening of he statue of liberty. What were all those gaudy red white and blue flags about?
And then a dog came on and farted the National Anathema and I cried it was so beautiful.
The great communicators, Adolph, Benito, Ronnie.
