Hah! I had to laugh, it was so sad...
Thanks Firsty, I will pass this along for it is one of the best pieces of critical writing I have yet to see.
Loved this one:
4. You
Charges: Silently enabling and contributing to the irreversible destruction of your planet. Absolving yourself of your responsibility to do anything about it that your immediate neighbors don’t. Assuming that it’s normal behavior to spend several hours each day totally inert and staring into a cathode ray tube. Substituting antidepressants for physical motion. Caring more about the personal relationships of people you will never meet than your own. Shrugging your shoulders at the knowledge that your government is populated by criminal liars intent on fooling you into impoverished, helpless submission. Cheering this process on.
Exhibit A: You don’t even know who your congressman is.
Sentence: Deathbed realization that your entire life was an unending series of stupid mistakes and wasted opportunities, a priceless gift of potential extravagantly squandered, for which you deserve nothing but scorn or, at best, indifference, and a cold, meaningless demise.

hey who me? my congressman is a douchebag and my neighbors are racist homophobes with cell phones speeding down slow winding roads but i look out my window as they hunt and i simply dream life and live life and love you. i'm #4 and you're #4 and we're all #4 unless we live in the united states of denial just across the union canal from nobody's jungle.
i noticed later that it came from a publication/site located in buffalo, which makes me happy knowing the lurking underground still exists up there in my old stomping grounds, a few familiar names scattered thru those bylines. a great list, all great, tom cruise nuts, oprah bah, w incompetent, it's all there in black and white and the great buffalo nevermore still stomps dangerously on along the road truth, and there he goes and there you are, better luck next year.
