Who ever said a poet can't dance?
I held a little mini-party (if parties can be mini) at my humble abode Sunday night. Seven of my friends, plus 5 of their friends, plus one of THEIR friends arrived at my house sporadically, beginning at 9. I already had "Feel Good Inc." playing and was shaking my groove thang with Captain Momo-san the ferret wonder when Mary, Carrita and Latoya arrived. When they came in, I knew it was time to really dance, so I put on Franz Ferdinand. And Franz Ferdinand is known to make the ladies dance. Vakill and Naima came with Pauly and Ryan, who demanded to hear "She Live In My Lap" so I whipped out the Bose, put the player in the dock, zipped through the albums and found "The Love Below". Needless to say, mad dancing continued. Viktor came at around 11.45 with Desmond, who wanted to hear "Dancing Machine", so we all boogied down and made a soultrain line which we finished up just as Ritchie, Ducky and Anna traipsed through with a case or two of Skky Blue, and a lust for dancing. Back to Franz Ferninand, b/c we all know they make the ladies dance... and the Mexirican boys too. Towards the end of the night, we sat down w/a coupla bowls and Jefferson Airplane, hippie dancing, and swaying while sitting Indian style on the floor. Some of them fell asleep on the floor. Some of them left as the sun came up. And some of them... some of them stayed dancing. In the middle of them was me. *wink*
sometimes I just like to breathe.

Anyway, off the top of my palseyed head a few of the tunes that when I hear I have a hard time sitting still to are...
pretty much anything by CCR but specifically
"SWEET HITCH-HIKER"
"HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN"
Eddie Rabbit "I LOVE THE RAINY NIGHTS"
Dwight Yoakum "TRAINS AND BOATS AND PLANES"
Leonard Cohen "SO LONG MARIANNE"
Bruce Springsteen "WAITIN' ON A SUNNY DAY"
Jann Arden
"THING FOR YOU"
"THE SOUND OF"
hmmmmmm, it appears I like dancing to weather related songs!
There are of course oddles and oddles more...she said as she tripped off gracelessly into the mist...

i voted for gorillaz, because that was the soundtrack of my last summer's european vacation, but the fuel in the groove machine all day today has been Scissor Sister's "there ain't no tits on the radio" which i defy anyone to sit perfectly still to.
see? you can't do it.
