The company I've been keeping.....

I've been holed up underneath an intense storm, literally. It's been raining and blowing constantly here on the coast for the past few days. This storm feels like it's blowing right through my very psyche, and crazy or not, I think it is. A wild, neurotic ride, hopefully that will fling me out into paradise once it's through with me.

It all seems to go along quite well with the upcoming full moon, whose company we'll all be keeping in the very near future.
check it out here, I found it all very interesting. I always do!

"Lunation" and a girl blowing a bugle . . .

Dear Hester:

It's because the wind is blowing your bugle-- a very simple explanation.

Stephanie cleared it right up for me.

The only way to clear things properly is to put on another pair of wool socks, take a few ( or many) sips of brandy, put on some Miles, and write a poem.

I always did think you were the best poet on LitKicks.

This powerful seige of drawing that's gone on in me for the past twenty or thirty years is finally subsiding enough so that I can write some poems myself.

In the meantime, try taking a look at one of my favorite poets, now that you're holed up.

So far, just the few poems of his I just read have intrigued me enough to save him to favorites. Thank you for the link Zlatko, looks like the whole site is worth exploring!
And thank you for your kind, understanding and nurturing energy Zlatko.
As far as me being a best poet on litkicks, I must ask you how much brandy have you sipped today?
Then I'll follow up that question by planting a big smooch on your cheek, which of course I hope is felt all the way to your heart from mine....
Hest

No brandy, no Miles

Dear Hester:

No brandy, no Miles, just cranapple juice and Schubert (played by Alfred Brendel.)

But I have been reading Marianne Moore and that wonderful, cranky, screwed-up, alcoholic genius, Elizabeth Bishop.

thanks Hesty, for the cosmic update. i loved this quote by Martha Graham...

"There is vitality, a life force, an energy. A quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly...to keep the channel open."

those are important words for anyone to remember, and espeically any artist to remember. see you on the other side of this fullmoon, and see what changes it brings. i anticipate something fabulous and evolutionary awaits!
