Bob Dylan Reggae style

Post by hester_prynne » August 27th, 2004, 8:03 pm

I'm listening to a Bob Dylan reggae salute on NPR. Just heard it's a hard rain's gonna fall...reggae style.....
I dunno.
I'm torn.
It's....not grabbing me.
But I suppose I could tolerate it.
I prefer being grabbed though....
toleration can be such a chore huh?
I'm gonna make believe I never even heard it.....

damn, I'm sorry I missed that

I have been doing a reggae version of Visions of Johana for some years

I'll bet mine is better than Les S. Amore's
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

ah, dean martin

I have a number of role models as a non-singer

tom waits, jimmy durante, louis armstrong,

I'm a character singer, can barely hold a tune

but dean martin was a lounge singer that les could be envious of
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

MR. Rod

I'll have you know that I can do any Dylan tune better than you.
Yes, I can.
No, you can't.
Anything you can do I can do better.
I can do anything better than you.
Yes I can
No you can't etc

I do a version of Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands that lasts twenty minutes
there's no karaoke machine in the world that can keep up with me.

Come catch my act next week
I'll buy the first drink

scooter is a well-known alley hit
(top cat and the gang attest to it)
