RIVERBEND, THE GIRL BLOGGER OF BAGHDAD

I certainly agree with Tom Engelhardt that the writings of the pseudononymous, self- named "Riverbend: the girl blogger of Baghdad" put the most human face on the almost unimaginable suffering of the Iraqi people under the lash of US imperialist war and occupation.

This writer is very, very unusual because she concentrates on the human, and conjures images from her close observation of the world around her: in this case, war-tormented Baghdad.

What more can we ask from a writer than that she cast out to us those minute and careful bits of human quotidiana that the "Media" people overlook, miss, or deliberately obscure?
