Telling Stories About Doreen

Post by Lightning Rod » March 5th, 2007, 11:09 am

One night several years ago, doreen and I were cavorting around the studio. The lights were dimmed but the light was on in the kitchen. Doreen was dancing and she saw her shadow being cast on a white wall. She wanted to take a picture of her shadow so she got the camera.

She tried to take a picture of her shadow. The camera had a flash. She took picture after picture and cursed when each time the wall appeared blank, without her shadow.

I sat bemused and watching her in this pointless exercise. It was like watching a kitten tangled in a ball of conceptual string and trying to fight her way out. She couldn't understand that her shadow didn't appear in the photos because the flash was brighter than the light which caused the shadow.

Doreen is a great poet and a pretty good photographer. But she is no scientist or engineer. That's why I love her.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

I love her too Clay
Because she says what she means
and that is a kindness to a crazy old fool like me

Shadows are sneaky
they hide in the light
