Kick out da Jams, Man!

Post by Doreen Peri » November 5th, 2004, 1:58 pm

It's not 3PM yet
but I bet
it will be here soon!
Right now,
it's only an hour past noon!

I'm just settin' up the bar,
tunin' the guitar -
sweepin' the floor
and gettin' ready for more
jammin'!

Whoever gets here first
pour the next one a drink, OK?
Burst out in verse!
Let's have some wordplay!

Enjoy!

Hey …I’m early
I’m new.
Peeking in...
spin a yarn or two

See the drinks on ice
The cups on the counter
Snacks? Alright!
Words - good! - Power

It’s been so strange
These last few days'
Disappointing, busy
okay ..... PLAY!

I'm off to shower
to wash sweat off my back
I want to be fresh
--FUN (at last!)

garcia's never impatient
scarlet begonias always on time
fragrance is sweet and colour is raw

pull up a tale and a knack for the telling
don't know much,
but i know what i like
and i like a good story
and a better audience

rap em, people
stack em and cut em up
throw your lines on the table
show us whatcha got

i bring a glass of tired wine
sip it, dizzy, slowly,
dip into the sizzling glow and dine
on dreamy grass of wired time

spice up that wine with a song
ever wondered why Lou Reed
guts a melody
and leaves ya gaspin?

wonder what they put in the drinks
shiverin down his throat
to the hairs on my neck

power comes in many forms
plug in to pure sweet oxygen
and breathe it in

the cream of the crop
that's what we've got
come on in.....waters
warm....be ready to swim
if ya stray to far ya might
just wind up being on the
nearest star......full of the
grain and not feeling nary a pain...........

here i am barefoot
deep in clouds
walking amongst minds
barely distant
linked in the sky
touching thoughts on the way
like an orchestra of strings
harps, sitars and hearts
we harmonize
in new sounds

lets forge our moments

smell the perfume
that's seeping through
this womb so true

i always knew
there'd be a bloom

i hear the hope in your swallowed plea
please people show me you care
our arms around our chosen innocence
say we can
say it'll be okay
as daydreams show their hologram selves
transparent to most
visible to us

paint a reality that supports us all
build a scaffold to hold us tight
freedom thrives on foundations of now

surf the moontides till we find our sealegs
i stand upon my pledge
my words sing out my heart

listen and belt out a harmony
find the beat and press the moment firm

the bloom and the forge
both hot and never far
apart, they want to tell
of exotic mists and rainy daze.......................
