eve was tricked by
evening – a slick sick succulent
soire, the life of the partay,
some snakelike grip on
knowledge, beyond me,
but hell, heaven is like that
when cures are at stake,
hung on a tree, but i am
certainly not expecting
resurrecting the past.

are you?

love is a touch
enough to renew
promise.

the snake promised eve
he wasn't lying on a branch.
i choose to arch
my back to the tree.

who taught the snake
to speak?

blame the water, blame the sky,
blame the grass on which we lie
without the goddess there would be
no you and me, and are we not all
part of the same cosmic tree, what
can only be called mystery................

9 - 9
as nine inches
(up) on me
i recall nines past
If 6 were 9
revolution 9
9 - 5
9 minutes to heaven (a poem written but not yet found)

how has nine been for you

when i was nine
i stopped
on the tracks
of dylan's fake freight train

i sang into the fading blow of the hot steamed night
promising to ride the rickety caboose
and unearth the philosopher's stone

nine was a year
of immense confidence

you haven't tasted
postmodern culture
until you've streamed
bluezak

(bluegrass muzak
versions of popular
and classic rock)

i can only blame the night
for stealing time delay and flight
of fancy, dances in the realm
of darkness take chances
with doubt.

tomorrow i will awaken
to again figure out
my place.

chase me to tomorrow.
chase me to a dawn!

blame the water,
the sky, for garment-
truths i put on.
