aw fuck it.
today is a day
for hard jazz,
and silent pinings,
bringin out
the christmas sheave stuff,
12 year old,
51 year old split,
she believes,
and I try to keep
the flame of it burning,
despite old broken lights,
cracked balls,
in shiny pieces,
empty pockets,
ain't makin the grade.
Mama did it though,
and I love her for it
now.....

Sowwy to hear poetess.
Play some miles for moi.
You don't care for
the Tale of Tex 'n Doe Bug?
Hard-living, hard-drinkin'
Tex-ass outlaws on the lam from the
Maoists, who have taken over the
Western US...
or perhaps you could tweak
the narrative....

princess menotweak,
sings a little red top,
when no one's looking,
keep on spinning,
resisting the
sure gonna drop,
into sloth's big
hairy comforting arms,
still no breakfast,
goes down my well
of nausea,
I can't stop knowing
that they are dying,
while I trim
god's birthday tree.
so what
so what
all blues
all blues
bitches brew
bitches brew,
sketches of spain,
on my brain....

Ya know I'm not a singer or musico but there's a new Bobby
Darin biopic seester. Thangs are Lookin' up:

Takin' pull of E n J and croonin' to the Bardess of Estoria

Oh, the shark, BABE, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Just a jackknife has old MacHeath, babe
And he keeps it … ah … out of sight.

Ya know when that shark bites, with his teeth, babe
Scarlet billows start to spread
Fancy gloves, though, wears old MacHeath, babe
So there’s nevah, nevah a trace of red.

Kurt Weill
knew how to pen a mood
and bobby knew how to deliver

hot and sharkskin snappy
is that a switchblade
(or are ya just happy to see me)

Brecht the lyrics
Weill cafe jass:
thugs tyrants
bankers n pimps
ho's n gimps:

Bert saw El Lay
in flames

"Atempted only once by the Grateful Dead, on 30 November 1981. Bob Weir sings one verse (of Mack the Knife, the second one from the full version) before the band grinds to a halt. Jerry adds "We'll work that up for next time" (but they never did)."

Sinatra say
touche`.
happy birfday,
frankie,
freddie's dead
too.
I'm senting a mental
to you getting,
no reply
ah from yere number,
day and night,
night and day,
back and forth
vinyl spin
doctors,
read my medal
baby,
read my mettle,
baby,
loud and clear,
as i dust the floor
of levity's footprints,
more is coming
more is coming,
time is
lessness learning,
restless, productives,
butter churning,
I'm hungry for
tropical sambas,
in this frozen
middle finger
of winter.

flex my hex
back to tex,
he and ol wrex,
got better things to do,
like
float me with some jokes,
make some chilifartstew....
it's nothing, really,
making Christmas come true

O mistress mine
where art thou trolling?

Have I here a moritat--
no ballade
no electro-minstrelsy
but gloom str8,
no tasar:

poesy I cannot;
tunes are not in
my heart:
tenant Macbeth perhaps
a suitable
part

Hestoria!

Time for bad Bard 101....

(oboe fanfare)

as blossoming slime that the
bear fallow swings to steaming
poison, her plenteous tomb
sexpresseth his full tilt
and pleasantry..........

papa warned me
about the family
sarcasm.
'yo mama put
venom in your blood,
abandonment pox,
chicken neglect,
syphoned it in ye,
before yere cap was
even off honey....,
built in warpath,"
we'd scatter
to the a and w,
leave mom alone,
home with her demons,
in favor of floats,
but she was
always in my blood.....
she was always,
in my blood.....

frank's b-day is today
what would he say
when the GD covered him
on a sunny outdoor concert day

Davey: Mack the Knife was no Sinatra tune. it's a Brecht Weill tune: Bertolt Brecht a leftist german playwright. IN fact it's quite opposed in content and spirit to Sinatra and his mafia cronies. The Dead never worked it out anyhoo as the quote indicates.

Check out Brecht's ThreePenny Opera, if you don't mind some
marxist-freudian rage. Brecht left Deutschland in the 30s before the nazis could kill him

That I do know. I have the Bobby Darin version on tape. But I've never heard the original before. But I'll try and look for it. I was saying what if the GD covered Frank only it would be one of his songs that made him famous.

manchurian headaches,
not for the young at heart,
yuletide carols,
I know those
kind of girls,
I was one.
cracking chestnuts,
for merry gentlemen,
opening fire,
when
jack frost started
nipping on my ass.....
