I light a candle, two, three, four
five, six, seven, eight, nine then
four more, thirteen. that will
be enough for today to ward off dismay
perhaps.
In the world of posers each one
feels themselves sincere, honest,
each one a liar by necessity ~
of words whose feeble vibrations
can never capture what is inside
our minds, let alone our hearts,
that burning emptiness in
the middle of the chest. And so
we speak of "miracle" perhaps
too lightly. A word like "faith"
becomes political. It's easier
to speak of hell and agony
and to remain cynical; then
to call it "honest" or "truth"
to see the rancid parts we choose
to see, but we are liars of necessity.
That I speak pure blathering drivel
as stated by my friend perezoso, is true,
I hope, at least it may be pure,
but likely not. And though I
say "my friend" and think
"That pendejo!" still I am sincere
at least, I offer what is mine, and whether
it appears as hope and healing,
or nonsense, the fear of falling,
My puppet master moves and speaks
through me and I love the feeling.
Which brings me to the face
of gratitude. For though you're
rude I thank you deeply
for who you are and what you've
shown me about yourself
and who I am. The Feminine,
though flung by you in rage
has known you well in every age,
given you birth, these hands to write,
these feet to walk this earth. I know
that I who worship Her must appear
quite demented to bow to one bipolar,
one so crazy as to endure
the violent rape over and over
and still come back for more.
To say She is the power
that beats your heart and grows the flower
is sentimental schlock, I know
it doesn't hide the horror of war
and pain that is the legacy of man,
confusion of the mind dissected from the heart.
Unbalanced MANia is the fashion now.
The harvest of tomorrow is the seed we sow.
And so, to You I bow my friend
For us there is no end.

before i consider end
i consider 'con'
with
consideration of all together
a ghetto of humans
in b(r)ed, opposites attract
and likes repel
but i like you
and i'm attracted
(what's wrong with this picture)
if i were a magnet
i'd hang out in the coolest leylines
sprouting antennae
tracing the low points of the planet
but as i'm a molecule
in a Queen Size futon
i lounge and linger
in the warmest spots
waiting for the teapot to pour the honeywine
and for the seasonal flowers
to scent my sensibilities
as i sense yours
for every nervous breakdown
there's a lover somewhere preparing for bliss
we're all together in this

there's few clouds
with silver linings
there's no
sunny side
up of the
stream
unless you
got some
westside juice;
contrary to
beer or bong
fueled dionysian
revelries,
Diogenes is the scribe's
proper
model; though abjuring
any Dotty Parker
saturnalias
and even
invective
ala

its always time
for
ashes
and sackcloth,
whether
you
dig
the lil'
tiger
or
not
