here's a wetback manifestation of con-man logic
something grown in a closet, tiny buds
with a green frequency laden with resin
a hydro-sheen skunk calculus
smokin
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

whoever walks along the crevassed cervical path
might get stuck
admiring the view

the view is tactile
the sounds are immaterial
the taste, the taste
words slide into retirement
who can talk?

a jam that holds the writer spellbound
who can talk?

the touch, the touch
fingers merge
blender vertigo

most aliens land in the spring
so we're safe for now
still traces of snow on my walk
and more expected

the thing about aliens
is they don't like to shovel snow
they land in South America this time of year
where it is summer
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

a jam jazzes nocturne
with shadowed notes
and saxy moans of loss--
dark are the tones that weave
the skeletal filigree;
in a room of jesters
malvolio weeps

and a comfy landing strip

where we come from
they don't know a falafel from a satellite disk

My blender is a forty-five Smith & Wesson
I can kill you with a smoothie
and I can mix the lexicon
with 'lectricity limbered

fingers can press buttons
pull triggers
beckon
or poke out eyes

oh yes, the fingers
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

syntactical frappe
liquidated today
pureed phantasm
kali fire ballet
nothing but
chrome teardrops
off a flying sword

Trane was an alien
or at least they said he was
he played tenor Smith & Wesson
made your skeleton shake
when rock n roll was just a gleam
in Chuck Berry's eye
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Do'r ... coming

All jamm’n

I look at you all
see the love there

While my guitar gently weeps

Still my guitar gently weeps ….

at the tombs the jester did not have a lute
he listened to the winds
carving obsolescence
into stone, the bare winter
trees like arms of
dead generals
shaking in cold

I play a Smith & Wesson guitar
it fits in a secret holster, you can barely see it
but when I crank it up
lika stevie vaughn stetson
lectric magination
going haywire into a
three ton Marshall amp
my guitar weeps
but not gently
into that bad night
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

I have caressed a weeping
guitar, love sleeping in its
body. My fingers have stroked
its neck until bluejazz heard
my cries for embrace and
i have tasted the innocence
of music;
arpeggios
are my intimate
companions.
