Five brothers from nova scotia,
whalers, vikings, they be,
four went down with the fishing ship,
the one left ancestored me.

Grandpa left for the coal mines then,
and a union started he,
til they shocked his brain out of caring,
bout wages for you and me.

Mama's brood were swiss folk,
they immigrated here,
they pioneered the oregon trail,
to get away from fear.

They settled in eastern oregon
where the desert hides the rain,
but grandpa was determined
to have a farm again

So he went out and started lookin
and he came up with a plan,
irrigation in the desert,
made him a famous man.

nows and thens and somedays,
generations strong,
everyone has a story to tell
bout who brought them along...

everyone has a story to tell
bout who brought them along
eva came to america with thirteen children, she about thirteen the oldest sister, she brought them through ellis island to a commune in woodbine nj started by a rich german baron.

but is was all a fabrication, none of them were really her siblings, they just grouped the children together in "families" to make it easier to get through immigration. The time was just before the pograms started in Poland in the begining of the 20th century. Rose was born in that commune, spoke no English until they moved to Baltimore. She married to crazy mike at 16 in one of those arranged marriages. But she was proud to be an american girl and women did have some rights in 1928, so I think she was ok with it. Crazy Mike was twice her age................

Sea-fowls´loudness was for me laughter,
The mews´singing all my mead-drink.
Storms, on the stone-cliffs beaten, fell on the stern
In icy feathers; full oft the eagle screamed
With spay on his pinion.

sweet dreams

an apple pan dowdy,
whittlin on wood
whistlin howdy,
lonely as an empty beer
on saturday night,
feathers flyin,
poetic pillow fight.....

Great Grand Daddy owned half of Baltimore
or so the story goes. About the time of Poe.
The wharf district was his. And the red light.

He was a famous philanderer rascal man
had his key in every hole. An Irishman.
Great Grand Ma'am was stern and German stock.

When he gave her the clap, she divorced him
These were the days when divorce was uncommon
and there was no penicillin.
