spring is on the tip of the tongue
and then,
a hummingbird plucks it from your lips

such is the fragility of change

A daffodil told me,
"it is spring now"
and giggled.
and though I love the daffodils,
I didn't believe her
until a hummingbird told me the same thing
and flitted away to kiss a pear blossom.

the class clown
chomped down
on a daffodil, all
the pretty girls
laffed, even tho
he was crass, the
way he did it
was funny ya see
smackin' his lips
with a tongue
lickin' lickity split
he spewed for
the rest of that
day............

drink it down
as the birds sing
and the kids roll
joints on the corner
with the cat bird
cawing away...........

Verna is the Goddess of Spring
she has a tiny rose tattoo
right at the curve of her back
where her hip thrusts into April

She rules all things including
rust and cracks and moisture.
between her legs is
the smell of the wilderness.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

rosemary brewed with sunshine
daffodils chomped
by blissful spring grins

this day rolls
down the warm hill
sip by sip

drunkin' stupor
I be in
spring is here
the mountain boys
down south will be
makin' their moonshine
sending it north to my parts
there is still snow here
during the day
it melts away
my room is messy
strewn about, dusty
time to clean
be anew
as I emerge from
my deep winter
cacoon
Do as you do, I'm doing as I may.

the smell of wilderness
warm damp earth
freshly cut grass
pines in the wind

and a flute's sound

It was one of those days
when the sun was smiling
and I could only think of
daffodil fellatio or
hum-jobs from
the oak breathing in
and breathing out
waiting to erupt in
a storm of pollen and semen
