My last post was a lie.

My Martin was stolen.
I play the piano and
6-string classical cheapo
left at my friend's house
by a former lover.
He gave it to me to
rid himself of her memory.
I prefer using my fingers
on both instruments.

welcome to the Studio, whitebird

Lightning has a way, yes.
He had his way with me.
A Rite of Spring.
A summer storm.
A winter squall.
An autumn wind.
KaBOOM!

speaking of spring
in anguished terms
(ay, thought i'd lost the season)
but here i'm told spring's hardly begun
and though the flowers are fading
and the rain has stopped
it's all a matter of calendar

and calendar says: not yet

sunsetting over plectra and plum plisquit
a chord of welcome
a sigh of farewell

a song of 19:19
how rare the sound

strung as tight as a stamen
the plectrum rings
on the spring
the silent spring
with metal wound
round my anguish

Perhaps
we can
go and get
Spring

Why do we always
wait for her?

Who made that rule?

Let's call Hazel
the banjo picking girl
blue grass banjo
picking girl

She will herald spring

hey there hazel

We are off to ring in spring
with margueritas, salt on the rim,
Mexican guitar accompanying,
my eyes undressing him,
a toast to resurrection, Love,
our waiter serving enchiladas filled
with melted cheese, hot to the tongue,
poetry scribbled on napkins, passed
back and forth, my feet sandaled,
a flirt with a boot underneath the table,
able fingers caressing palms,
our colorful flair decorated with
winks and lip synchs, singing
Spanish tunes in 2-part harmony.
We are off to ring in spring,
our rite to celebrate the equinox.
Clocks stop when Love arrives.
It is always spring in his arms,
and oh the charms of this senorita,
jalapino-spiced, delicate!
We are off to ring in spring
at an outdoor cafe!
And oh, the way the flaminco
will woo us!

hot spicy flames
palms undressing tequila
in lemon yikes
so soft that marguerita tang

spring sings flamenco
in an enchilada accent
a macho guitar insistance
a rendezvous with life

music touches the soul
with its tender hips
or tulips
the flowers of spring
are a question that bring
us farther than closer to the goal
