so low-key
i had to crawl under the mat to enter
barely scratched my surface

so low-key
i had to wake up to know i'd been asleep
lack of yawn a tell-tale sign

so low-key
my jeans stay zipped
lots of space to groove

so low-key
a jam that melts in my mouth
invites another taste

stringing the keys

Post by panta rhei » April 15th, 2005, 11:08 am

low key
minor chords
blue notes

singing low
in friday glow
humming free
on swaying boards
with warming throats
swinging low
sweet chariot

low key
off key
in key
with cradling boats
melodious flow

yeah well the low-down dish
the low-cut t-shirt
the low-brow comment

and when we get this low
we let it all spill
nowhere to drop when you're down this far

down gives you a fresh view of up
like lookin up the pants of a passer-by
and up the dress of some over-played bossa nova diva

lie down and stay awhile
the sidewalk's fine
and the blanket's cozy

it's all a picnic
when you're safe among friends

pic-nic
is a brillant idea
the river is only some blocks from here
and finally we can stay in the afternoon sun
without necessarily melting
(I´ll prepare the mate)

maté mates
gathering around arcadia's cup
our mouths refreshed

what could spill out
but groove

as the tea warms our senses
and the river sounds so near

low, not down,
we lay and rest
on our brow
a glow,
no frown -
we're blessed.

we're blessed.
we jam.
we wear a gown
of quid pro quo.
we rock and jest,
we swing and bow.
we dine and sing,
don't give a damn
about who
keys the string.

we nest.
refreshed.

remember how richard (farina) put it
been down so long, looks like up to me
well down he went
motorcycle ended his enlightenment

but we're still low enough to relish the taste of life
a fast blog
a wink and a watch as an ant ambles by
carrying 7 times its weight

we can't complain
when we see how the other side lives

wireman
wishes he were here
sending hi from the heights of low-key

he's off in that country location where mellow is king
and picnics rule

doin the limbo - how low can we go?

picnic in the low realms

Post by panta rhei » April 15th, 2005, 4:02 pm

picnic in the low realms:

inside the bossom
of the earth
worms
praise the erect
way to walk

those who walked it
in the most
upright way
are their
strengthening
food

doing the earthworm boogie
shimmying and grooving in the earth
making routes through roots

leaving concrete sidewalks
to work the soil
play up to the audience

as we watch
knowing
one day we'll meet again

routes through roots
winds through wings
passages through pain
tunnels through dreams

burrowing through
earth and clouds
shrouds and births
debris and night
we do
until one day we
and the light
meet
again

anew
