At the corner of the world
He lowered himself down
To the rocks in the ocean
Where the Pacific became the Straight
She watched from above
Not as brave, not as limber
While he crept and stooped and arose and snapped
the photos that would hold their memories
of the corner of the world
still, the sight of him down there
so brave and so limber
was enough for her corner of the world.

I am reading and laughing
the road has roller coaster wheels
flat tires and roadkill
thumbs out, fingers thrown
smiles and fists
Christmas trees in medians
a boat in a ravine
waiting for a flood
stolen stop signs
a wreck, a good samaritan
I've seen it all

nearly ran off the road
watching a hawk chase a sparrow
at 75 miles an hour
there was that woman pushing a cart
100 miles from anywhere
anyone - where was she going?

at least I don't have to make the beer runs...

Howdy.
Freedom's just another word...

I have a beadwork of beer cans
zero to seventy-five in a six pack
lika blacktop to eternity

I hitch-hike
a roadrunner banshee
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

If I was her and she was me
I'd push that cart and she'd push me
chicken feathers, biker leathers, prickly pear spines
horse blankets, injun trinkets and jappy ginger wine
never saw an enemy and never lost a friend
I'll be her if she lets me and she can be me again

Well come and well met, buddahbitch

She wore a funny pink hat with a big flower
her orange abstract print on a mumu
and plastic yellow sandals with a determined
look on her face...she was pushing it hard.

Maybe it was us, next year or next time?

The sun tops it arc,
common sense melts away.
A mercurial wind
betrays it confusion...
mostly a calm westerly flow,
but an urgent blast at times,
and the same awkward lull,
each time after.

trying to post here is like sloggin' through a corral after a weeks worth of rain...

I have to get up for the Farmer's Market
at 4:30 am and put up a tent so I must bid adios...
it was brief but I like brief

Here is a haiku in parting:

along the road
a redtailed hawk soars-
carry me home

sweet dreams travelers!
Freedom's just another word...

Sorry, SooZ... we're having server problems... I've been on their help boards over and over for the past few hours.

Thank you and all for coming.

Apologies to all for the slow server response for this event.

We are trying hard to get it fixed.
