one can change the past
when it can be seen
for exactly what it is

no blame
no gain
a zero sum game

no need
no screed
no embelishment

and spark the connections
waylayed by a brain
untrained
to let go

love begins when you leave home
that's when you find
that it's better to give it than to take it
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

If you leave me, I'm going with you.
If you die on me, I'll kill you.

I change my past on a regular basis,
though not quite as often
as I change my socks.

It's a matter of embellishment.
Yesterday can always be better.

I even write myself old love letters.

all my gloom and doom is short sighted I know
cause in the long run
all will be well

time loves happy endings
And there is a black gospel opera based on Oedipus at Colonus
where he stands and says at the end of his life
All Is well

Time Loves A Hero
-- music by Bill Payne, Paul Barrere, Ken Gradney
-- Lyrics
by Bill Payne, Paul Barrere

Well they say time loves a hero
but only time will tell
If he's real, he's a legend from heaven
If he ain't he was sent here from hell

Hear me well
Seein' ain't always believin'
Just make sure it's the truth that you're seein'
Eyes sometimes lie, eyes sometimes lie
They can be real deceivin'

I got an Uncle in Puerto Rico
Spends his days in the sun
his nights in the casinos
He left the States many years ago
Took a fishin' boat to Puerto Rico
Now my aunt, she is sad and lonely
She'll never know that she drove him away
As a coward I admire his courageous ways

Well they say time loves a hero
but only time will tell
If he's real, he's a legend from heaven
If he ain't he was sent here from hell

Some say my uncle, that he's a zero
His life is as a shell, he left it back at Stateside
I'd say he's doin' pretty well, without his shell
Bumming 'round the beaches of Puerto Rico

The beauty of the sunrise and sunset
To his friends he wish he could tell
They're at home still runnin' for bells
Better San Juan than that blue collar hell

Well they say time loves a hero
but only time will tell
If he's real, he's a legend from heaven
If he ain't he was sent here from hell

love is blind
especially to time
love destroys all stale reason
and shows the sublime

a guide
a pathway
a message sublime

the eternal return
this one more time
this forever
this moment
this chamber divine

and only should love falter
do we fail to climb loves ladder
to the place where love did hide

in our own heart first
and in other's with time

yes it is all true
you are right
if not then we would turn into living fossils
trapped in the amber of our memories.

Time kills...

Every so often,
I like to stop and observe
the moment, unique,
never before,
never again...

Singular,
this breath.

like a singular crystal peak,
rising from parched visions...

amber is the only gem
that was once alive
pines were oozing sap
before the last ice age

the opal is its only rival
water caught in cracks of quartz
the clear silica of love in distress
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

time is a prison
a memory
a fate
a conclusion
a burden
a measure of late
or ontime
what we have
and destroyed
time is a liar
that makes fools of us all

opal was her birth stone
the best is valued for the fire in it
Silicon brings to mind the periodic chart
all organic life is carbon based
or what we know of it anyway
silicon such a close cousin
who knows if Texas Instruments did not give birth to a silicon based life form
only time will tell
It all started in the heart of texas
californina may be state of the art
but texas is the state of the heart.

time is music
and life is a melody
and time is the unbending deserter
not looking back
hammer down into my life

no way to separate
agape from amore
without it
getting boring

lust begins between the ears
all our fallacies and fears
and looks in tender eyes
love depends on lies
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

It's better when time
is an abstract work of art,
like a brilliant path of sunset,
like my uncle in Puerto Rico,
days in the sun,
nights in the casino,
like Einstein, uncommon sense,
he knows that time may
be defeated...
mass traveling
near the speed of
brainwaves...

Freud such a dirty old man
and we are all born between feces and urine
and civiliazation is built on rock and roll
and libido
sublimated sex
like a i said the body has its memories
the lust that gnaws me
it would be sweet if it was just sex
but I am not out there looking for it
but dam it is twisting me eyes
what was the word Stupid Bob used for rapid movement of the eye balls "stoichastic"?
getting pretty conscious of it, but still one step in back of it.
walking throught the parking lot, did her breast just point an accusing nipple at me, wow look at that, man I love big butts. just a litany of lust, but like a zenn meditation I just watch my thoughts and desires chug by my observing self, desire is suffering but I always loved to listen to Leo Kottke play Jesu the joy of man's desire.

Who wrote this poem?
Ogden Nash? Dorothy Parker?
Neither? Either? Could it be?
Nay, I say! I confess!
It was only me.

_______________
When you're in love,
you may as well be ill,
or addicted.

You can't eat, can't sleep,
can't wait for another
fix of it.

Time is a
love mocker, a thief.
It can steal the disease,
mimic relief,
then leave you starved
for another malady.

This is why some people say,
time and love are both fallacies,
lies.

But I say those who come
to such conclusions
are suffering from delusions,
sensationalized.

The reason why time and love
seem fleeting
is simply because they both
are repeating.
