I am late,
like spring,
my branches draped
with March snowcover.
Icicles drip from downspouts
near my roots. I am an ancient oak,
independent of tardy seasons.
Saw me in two to count my rings.
I have seen spring arrive in arrears
more years than not. Seasons do not
own me yet I invest in sapling energy
since I must. Disease eats my sprigs.
Leaves will leave well enough alone,
insistent on nonappearance.
I am certain they will not show.
I am late, like Spring.
I yearn for equinox.
I desire chlorophyl-
filled fields, green,
envious like a painted
sky. I yield
to the equinox,
await my blossom,
anticipate my flush,
languish my flower.
I am late,
like spring
is late, the hour,
my prime, not yet mine.

It is so beautiful here
It went down to thirty two last night
Winter's last gasp
Then it went up to sixty and blue skies and sunshine
I enjoyed it cause I no* the sticky sweltering summer is coming quick
Spring is so fleeting here
The earth is sleeping under neath a white blanket
I am way late myself
Everytime I see children at play
I know I am too late
But there are plenty of kids to love
I do not think I could survive another Virginia winter
I got seeds and potting soil
My hanging plants await decisions
What is good for a shady area?
*
I think I finally figured out my No/Know Their/there See/Sea How/Howl mistakes. I type to a voice. In speach there is no distinction between those sounds/words. I am listening to a famous writer today on NPR he talks like this, And I said, Um, that I would Ah, be happy UM, to Ah , go ... It drove me insane, I had to turn the radio off. I don't imagine he writes like that.
dam dam dam dam
sorry sorry sorry
I got no poetry just rambles.
I come close to deleting this mess, but I figured you might have already seen it.

ah mayflowers and april showers
an march's illusion of transformation
found a sunny spot this morning
a corner of sunshine at the back door
outsides anyhay,
a cement stoop where i sat crosslegged
my legs crossed and easy on an outdoors carpet
smoking a bowl i looked down
saw a little fly in my coffee cup
i gently lifted it out on my finger
let it muddle onto my palm
moved and sat crosslegged on the back cement walkway
my legs crossed into the dirt
little bugger dropped onto the yard
gently saw it making away
but not alight into the air
its wings awry as it were
perhaps it struggled a bit too far
and yet it had the sticks and old leaves from last year
to weave a dream in
springs lament
stoned

Every one here has such kind hearts
and hope flows in every word
spring awakens without fail
and I
I can turn my face
toward the sun
and feel

spring awakens without fail
and I
I can turn my face
toward the sun
and feel
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

I have sipped many a drink
in the springtime air
shared with a fly
who decided to
"swim on a whim"
I would fish him out
pat him dry
wish him adieu
and a fond good-bye
before toasting his good fortune
and mine too --
after all
we both know
I could have drunk him!
Skoal!
