happy feast!
celebrations of merry pranksters
and under the table pirate entrepreneurs
and holly and such
blessed by sunshine and balm

Dear Friends and family December 2006
Christmas greetings and holy day hellos to all
We are doing well here in st Pete, Suzie had surgery and is now a-ok!
She has been exercising a lot and dropped 25 pounds, mercy!
We have our Hollydays décor up, laurels and lights and the most beauteous tree ever. We will celebrate on Christmas eve with her two local kids and their families, Her son Brian was recently engaged to April, a bohemian rhapsody if ever there was one! Her daughter Lindy, with hubby Steve and two sons, auStin 9 and Nathan 2, and our 3 cats and their 1 all together for ham and fixins.

AuStin’s soccer team won the championship, yippie it was a great game, especially since last year they did not win a game. Brian is auditioning with a ska band. Lindy now is self employed with a chair in a new salon and is doing well.

I have continued to stay connected with Veterans for Peace. We recently had our first annual holy days banquet with 200 attendees. I have had more letters printed in the St. Pete Times, spoken on air via local community radio, Veterans day anti-Iraq war activities, much discourse about this and associated issues ongoing with "on-line" friends from Israel to Syria to Argentina and Canada and across America. Suzie and I hope and pray for our soldiers’ safe return and an awakening among the American people that includes common sense, yes, that is our prayer.

We continue to look forward to the coming year with renewed hopefulness and vigor. Peace and goodwill to all. Suzie and Jimbo, XMAS ‘06
Oh yeah we saw a reindeer with shades playin a peppermint guitar!

You look good Jimboloco, happy and at peace.
I wish you all the best of the season.
Drive on, don't mean nothin'
My children love me , but they don't understand
And I got a woman who knows her man
Drive on, don't mean nothin', drive on
Johnny Cash Lyrics
"Thunder, Perfect Mind," a Gnostic text from the Nag Hammadi Library, Wisdom declares:
Do not be ignorant of me anywhere or any time. Be on your guard!
Do not be ignorant of me.

For I am the first and the last.
I am the honored one and the scorned one.
I am the whore and the holy one.
I am the wife and the virgin.
I am the mother and the daughter.
Love and the Goddess Joseph Campbell

Campbell points out that there is something unnaturally extreme about Biblical mythology, in which the male Creator not only occupies a dominant role, but "takes over [the Goddess'] role", so that she is "wiped out". "The Hebrew term for the Canaanite goddess was 'the Abomination'". He points out that typically agrarian societies have female gods, while nomadic hunters, e.g. the Hebrews, worship male deities.
Despite this banishment of the Goddess figure, "she came back... in the Virgin". Campbell implies either that there is something in the human psyche which requires a female Goddess, or that this archetypal figure was intentionally reintroduced into the religious worship of the West under the guise of the Virgin Mary.

brush that pom pom
swish that reindeer tail
sleigh high or don't sleigh at all

tumbleweed pulls a crow-song lullabye
solstice pushes the last shopper out the door
soya trimmed wheat fields
deck the sky with rounds of branflakes

carrot juice fills the air
it's a december evening and all's well

forgive the holi-dazed and love-crazed strangers walking pages waxing long.

Home waits there

naked
aching edges toward the never ending
as the story goes
and starlight forevers float along
the walkways we all wander
hey, upon that morning far
awakened imagine all the pleasure
how the sentimental value streams wide arcing
as patiently the night comes long
commemorating lazy circles
twisting hazy on the ground
empirical the pounding rises
fast then slow life flurries on
it's not that I don't know the answer
it's not that I can't hear the sound
it's not that we're not meant forever
it's just that now is hard to find
come spin the web
come spin the answers
come swoop below
come dance beyond
and over all the hidden edges heading forward
lost but found
somewhere high on distant ledges
see the world keep spinning round
and while we wander seeking treasure
it overtakes by leaps by bounds
so smile and I will watch there waiting
on horizons look around
morning comes
and time is patient
ever silent
homeward bound
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

so here you go . . .i am giving away christmas trees, but the boss doesn't know, yet. when the counting is done i'll say "i don't know how they are getting rung out" but i know. i won't tell. most people pay but there are those that i can recognize, not from knowing them , but of being from them, who can't afford. the mother and her two young shining girls looking from tag to tag in the lot,not at how the tree looks but how much it costs. " look here" i say see this poor tree?" it's been here too long and must be thrown away ,so the manager says. i'll let you have it . . .only ten bucks" Mom knows the score and slips me the ten and i load and tie and tip my hat at the end "merry christmas" i say to the smiling young ladies. and at the end of the day on my way to my home there is Melissa at her station with kettle and bell , "merry christmas " i say as i give the days receipts and know up in heaven i will have a humble seat. every year at the end there are a couple dozen trees that get thrown in the chipper and are used to block weeds from the flowers that bloom in the warm months of summer. this year there will be twenty, a few less dollars accounted for, a little less profit oh what a bummer. it might be hippie logic but that is what i am known for.

reindeers and a mint letter
(it's great to know
that one of my most familiar/friends of s/eight
and his family are ok!!!)
the grey/bordeaux yesterday
turned to a silver/black night
airy oceanic farewells suspended in time

Reconnected bless it
Old friends stopping by unannounced with baked goods
Catching up
No strings attached
The years almost past
Love baked into my breakfast
Scones from my neighbors home
Cheer and cheer and cheer
Some cookies for lunch
Maybe I’ve just got a sugar high
“aw, sugar, sugar”
Naw
I taste love mixed with all these nuts
I have no good excuse not to spread this all the rest of my years
So I jump in my car
Drive not too far
Across town while the radio plays
“oh child things are going to get easier”
and
“finally it’s happened to me..”
This is what ringing in the New Year has got to be all about
Connecting at the door
“oh I’m so glad to see you!”
and
“I have something for you but didn’t have your address.”
Yes! Connect! Never Forget!
Connected to the string of human lights
Electrified!
“It’s electrifying”

Happy Holidays All

A friend sent me a fancy tray of fruits
So beautiful
So delicious
My neighbor Mz Polly moved to a nursing home
Her daughter gave her Xmas decorations
I got silver bells and a wreath
Colored lights up
She also gave her dog
That dog the best Christmas present I have ever received
Trying to find some seasons spirit
Even if it has nothing to do with the star over Bethlehem

The worse part is the presents.
The president says we must make sacrifices
We must show our patriotic spirit
We must shop more
screw it
I am going to take a box of books and give them away.

Children are the connection

it's an inch after yesterday
and here i am
light a mile away

one more experience for the road
while road dusts over
like a freeze-dried memory

sun up
come on, wake up
roll your rays and stretch your forgiveness

let there be you
to fill this cold-ass heart display

lucky old sun rolls around heaven
take me to the river, wash my errors away

circumsize my heart
let me hear your voice

at the end of my road
take the dust from my eyes

all sorrow and no joy
makes jack cold hearted and no fun

celebrate
life.

yesterday
tomorrow was
today

the longest night
of the year

its all down hill from here
half past one am

celebrate life
a miracle of being
here, now, yeah, life

kids come kids go
morning comes, afternoon comes, evening
comes, goes, comes, goes
life

cycle of daylight, cycle of time
life

a huge wave of tears
emptiness
then laughter

a huge roar of song
orchestral jam session
then quiet

life is a bowl of rising dough
a loaf of rising proportions
baked, cooled and shared

celebrate the heat of our joining
warmth round a fireside
we are our emanations
we attract what we are

celebrate the ions of self
life is a quiet mystery
