"Like dew i was born
Like dew i vanish
Osaka Castle and all that i have ever done
Is but a dream
Within a dream"
Shogun
eons of ions
quantum mysteries
let our hearts be
forever young
keep us in wonder
knowing more than we can say

It is going to be a long time gone
This mystery of my life
In the eternal night I rest
Till the sea gives up its dead
When the spirit moves across the face of the waters
Again.

Till then
Let my spirit be unchained

Such a far-gone world
The glow of old floor model radio
A woodstove crackling fire
Candles eight plus one
Gas street lamps
Railroad tracks glistening
Boxcars looming in the foggy night
Ships horns
Black out curtains on the windows
Baltimore world war two.
Such a happy childhood
safe in the new world
a loving family
treasure of memories

I was raised in a sea of black faces
A minority among minorities
One refugee family in a sea of black faces
My first enemies my first friends.

talk about what used to be
waste another day
trying to find the courage to be free
unentangled by guilt
to live my own life.
by the sea
the beautiful sea

like a dream of Osaka Castle

(interlude: not jam)

still - this poem of yours is gorgeous - have saved it for my reading pleasure.

(back to jam)

nobody's ready. don't kid me.
no one's prepared
it comes
it happens
it hits
not one person's on guard

it slips between breaths
while blinking
while humming and thinking of a shared look that conveyed untold meanings
only then does it hit
it waits
and then
it strikes

i'm not ready
never ready
but here it is

life is a quiet mystery not so quiet
and I mulling through existence
find beauty there
smile deliciously
at all the specialties
the surprise treats
the delicacies
and consume them there

consider yourself consumed
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

set my jam watch
but the alarm just won't ring
somethin's keepin me sleepin
those wild dreams are luring me astray
i tell ya
it's those wild dreams
of mock-eyed situations
and impossible assignations
that keep me glued where i don't want to be

it's a trick, i tell ya
it's a low-down ruse

but i'm comin up fighting, i'm waking up
i hear the jam bell and it's jammin strong
i hear ya
i'm waking up
i'm blowing bubbles with my bazooka mind

pardon my delinquency.
i have been preparing
for the birth of a myth
which will save me
from myself and save
the world from evil.

candles are lit
i sang with
my 88-key grandbaby
oh holy night
anticipating the event

ahhhh the gifts,
wrapped, unwrapped.

i tap my foot to the time
of a train on the way.
the other day, the plane arrived

and we will gather, here and there,
dare the remembrance of an annual spark
to remind us where
we are,
each a star,
each a galaxy,
each a particular
point in the discovery
of wonder and awe,

each a viable purpose,
each knowing we will die
to rise again when the time
is right for a pardon
in our delinquencies,
our incompleteness,
our veritable ineptness,
our futile attempts,
our lost eras.

i am here now.
that's all i know.

his highness the dalai lama
rubbin noses with the walters
cum eskimo woman
innuit to me strange
husky dog sled keeps this show on the road
open windows invite us in
a day in the life
mankind doing the slant disco
fever, fervour, madness
cum eggnog

meanwhile back at the kibbutz pub
soldiers incognito
jam and blast the roof higher
jazz keepin the hawks away
coolin our heels on a tuburg iceberg
oh ginsberg where art thee?

soldiers are soldered
to the landscape by
those who hold the
torch.

remove the iron
or gun from
those who
attempt
to stun
the planet
with control...

and soldiers
go home,
whole.

if i were a torch singer,
i'd lie on top of the black lacquer
piano with my back arched,
take the mic into my hand,
gently put it up to my lips,
(pursed of course) to whisper,

"Shhhhh..... shhhhhh....
baby's all brand new..
hush my sweet world and do
what you always do"
