Regarding the current situation in the US—

This horrible display of abusive behavior will turn around! Soon!! I believe it will be soon! The human race has proven over and over and over again that we will not tolerate bullies and criminals and liars and thieves and hatred and abusiveness! This WILL turn around. I’m sorry you’re hurting. Me too. But I have faith that this cannot last much longer. Too many people have been hurt or killed. Hang in there! Please know GOOD and RIGHT always win!

Our future will be much better than it ever had been before and will be built on kindness , compassion, truth, acceptance, respect, human rights, integrity and freedom!

I meet more or less regularly for lunch with a handful of the scientists & engineers I once worked with - in a city park when it's nice, at a local cafe otherwise. One of us - a bench chemist - is also a history buff, and is totally unflappable about the shitshow that passes for governance today. "Ahh, this has happened before," he says, and cites scandals and abuses and horrific incidents from the last two centuries that bear him out. He agrees with you. the ship of state is self-righting, and will do so eventually. I don't have that same conviction of faith - but I desperately hope that he and you are right. All I can DO is vote next year, and hope we kick as many of those bastards out of office as we can.

Yes! Vote!! Thank you. And if you can think of a way that we can reach the non-voters, the millions who sat out the last election, let me know. You’re an extremely intelligent person, so maybe you can come up with something. Ask that group you meet with if they can think of anything to get non voters to vote. We can work on this together.

whoa, don't overestimate Corey's expertise - he's a CHEMIST by training, only an amateur - no more a real historian than I'm a real writer. He's self-taught because he's interested in it & reads a lot, more of it than I do. I trust his conclusions, but take them with a dash of NaCl. (Sorry, he'd want me to say that.) His point is that this isn't the 1st time the country's been here (the "gilded age", robber barons, rise of the labor unions etc), and when the sane among us had had enough, they VOTED for change and got it.

I don't think you or I can reach the uninvolved electorate - if they aren't already outraged by all the bullshit going down, then no amount of lecturing is going to move them. They'll convince themselves "oh well, my vote doesn't matter anyway" to justify staring at their phones for a few more hours and taking pictures of the pizza when it arrives.

The real battle will be can each state guarantee there will be a fair election. Way before Trump there has been steady erosion of that sanctity....geryymandering, tampered with machines, throwing legitimate voters from the rolls, special ID's etc.

The left is hip to this trickery, and will be doing every possible to ensure every vote is counted...but this is an area of great concern to me.....without a paper trail I wonder if we will know for sure...the states understand this...so we can assume some states will be trying to ensure accuracy, and some will not, ...and some will in on the fix

growing up, I never thought about this...I actually remember reading stories about this kind of fraud committed in other countries, and thinking to myself, Well at least here we have fair elections.....I guess the Pollyanna in me has been tainted

well...Now.... more than ever is the Time to Fight Back......I don't have complete faith in the voting results, but I do have complete faith in the fight that is coming...that is where my optimism lies
