It was a bad day yesterday. I was so shook up by the murder of Renee Nicole Good by the US ICE agent, I couldn’t do anything else but mourn her. I must have watched 3 different videos at least a dozen times. I read news reports and opinion pieces, lists of incidents when law enforcement can use lethal force and lists of incidents when it is illegal to use deadly force.
I was saturated in commentary, law, and history lessons. I have drowned in my own tears. I only got one hour of sleep last night. I’m wide awake and still searching for some kind of hope that her death won’t be forgotten, hope that we can remove the unidentified masked thugs from our American streets before they kill someone else or disappear more people to concentration camps.
I’m so angry and disappointed in our country. I read that Trump posted an altered video on his “Truth” social network to try to prove their fictional narrative that she “ran over” the murderous masked man. The lies are just too much.
Seeing Kristi Noem in her ridiculous oversized cowboy hat spewing lies to the camera calling the innocent victim a terrorist made me nauseous. She is truly a piece of work. I cannot believe what has happened to our country. It’s obvious to me that if Renee Good could be murdered in broad daylight by our government’s secret police, it could happen to any of us. Any of us could be killed at any time for no reason.
My heart goes out to Renee’s three children, (15, 12, and 6) and her loving mother who spoke so highly of her and to all of her other family members and many friends, neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones. This tragedy should not have happened. Let us work diligently to somehow stop ICE from ever doing this again. ICE personnel should be properly trained, unmasked, identified by badge numbers and names, and wear body cameras. Renee Nicole Good. She was only 37. Say her name. Do not forget her!
Renee Nicole Good had three children, a 15-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son with her first husband and a 6-year-old son with her second.
Renee was known for her work and won the 2020 Academy of American Poets Prize as an undergraduate student at Old Dominion University for her poem, "On Learning to Dissect Fetal Pigs". That specific poem is available to read on the poets dotorg website.
She was also a songwriter.

Re: Renee Nicole Good
truly heartbreaking......despite any orders they may have shouted to a terrified woman who just wanted to leave that area, a properly trianed officer that does not understand when you must use deadly force shouldnt be allowed to carry a firearm...Ive watched the video, and his life nor anyone elses life was not in danger, and properly trained law enforcement officers are required to use the least amount of force to deescalate a situation....he could just as easily have shot out her tires since 3 shots were fired.....no one can tell me different, his intent was to murder her....I'm so sorry for her children and the others in her family that there are scumbags with deadly weapons walking our streets looking for a chance to fire them at someone

Re: Renee Nicole Good
Yeah great point! Why didn’t he shoot out her tires if his goal was to stop her from leaving?
Heartbreaking. Devastating.
Two more people have been shot by ICE and are in the hospital in Portland.
It’s too much. As you said, these ICE agents are untrained anf shouldn’t be armed without proper training.
Our country is in dire straits. I’m concerned bigtime.

And, as always, judging by internet comments I read yesterday, the amount of people out there who CONTINUE to defend this cruel and brutal way of "governance" is truly astounding and depressing to me. WTF.
