Booster Shot
for release 11-14-05
Washington D.C.

I remember vividly. It was five minutes after eight (Central) on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 and I was awakened by a phone call from a friend. She worked on the 50th floor of a downtown office building. She said, "They are sending us home because of what is happening." I'm still half asleep. "What is happening?"

She said, "Turn on your TV, Lightning Rod."

I tuned in just in time to see the second jet hit the towers. I watched aghast as the shining spires collapsed in a cloud of dust and death. It was on live television. Then it was re-played for weeks. As a nation and as a world we all felt the horror of this terrible act. It unified our nation in grief even more profoundly than the Pearl Harbor attack.

It wasn't a hot fifteen minutes after the collapses that I began asking myself questions. The obvious ones at first. Who did this and why?

Then other questions began to occur to me. Questions like Was this spectacle produced by Industrial Light & Magic? It was too perfect. One plane hitting fifteen minutes after the other and then the collapses that looked like perfectly executed building demolitions. How did they get all of those camera angles in less than twenty minutes? And the most pressing question of all, Who would benefit from such an event?

I immediately knew who would benefit from this disaster. It was the floundering, undefined, unelected Bush administration. When 9/11 happened, the BushCo bunch was wondering how to legitimize a questioned presidency in the face of the 2000 election fiasco. The president, in the first nine months of his reign had mostly been seen jogging and reading books to school children.

Then the jets hit the towers and as we all soon knew, it was a new world. I could just see Dick Cheney, in his undisclosed location, watching the towers crumble and pumping his fist just like Tiger Woods does after sinking a forty foot putt.

Not since Pearl Harbor has an American government been handed such a blank check. The history of the past four years has shown how they have cashed in on it. The Patriot Act was crammed down our throats. The neocon agenda was advanced both with repression at home and aggression abroad. They got to have their imperial wars and were able to pad the nests of their cronies, all in the sacred name of the War on Terror. Like Ollie North said, It was a neat deal.

I'm not a conspiracy kinda guy. I think most things in this world are pretty obvious and evident. I usually don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. But my email box gets stuffed daily with articles from people sending me byzantine conspiracy theories about how the boys at Bushco engineered this whole thing and how they put their Saudi buddies up to helping them out with their political problems so the whole cabal could continue to get richer and more powerful. It's not implausible. I have no proof as to who instigated these acts, but I do know who the beneficiaries of it were. According to Capitol Hill Blue there is a memo floating around Washington suggesting that the boys at BushCo are wishing for another blank check in the form of a new terrorist attack on American soil.

Now we see this administration floundering again. They've spent their fabled political capital. The lock-step support that they enjoyed from their majority in both houses of Congress is eroding. The president, with his approval ratings in the thirties, is perceived as a political liability for those seeking re-election in 2006. America doesn't trust him anymore; nearly two-thirds of voters think he is dishonest. There is a scandal in every closet. The war is going bad. Sounds like time for a bomb to go off in the bathroom at the Super Bowl.

Poet's Eye memo to BushCo:
Double Secret background.

Operation Pop Shock

Step One:

Have a group of celebs gather for an awards ceremony. Call it anything. The National Award for Excellence or The Patriot's Plaque. Get People Magazine's 50 most beautiful faces and the Academy Award nominees and Paris Hilton and Oprah and a few obnoxious comics and Mohammed Ali and some washed up quarterbacks, maybe even the Bush twins. Gather them all in Grauman's Chinese or The Hollywood Bowl or even the Kennedy Center. It would be a big gala and all the networks would be there, maybe even Matt Drudge.

Step Two:

Set off a concussion bomb during the ceremony. The cameras will be rolling. Not a big bomb that will kill too many people, just one with a lot of smoke and noise that will only set some Halston gowns on fire and break a few eardrums. Suggest that you plant the bomb in the section where Warren Beatty and Michael Moore and Barbara Streisand and Arianna Huffington are sitting.

Step Three:

Go on TV and announce that because of fancy intelligence work and with the help of the Dept. of Homeland Security, that the president has prevented this bomb from being a 'dirty bomb.' This was only a 'clean bomb' which proves that he is in control and is protecting America from the forces of evil. Think of it as a nerf Pearl Harbor.

Step Four:

Sit back and watch the approval ratings go up.

Step Five:

Send check to Lightning Rod Consulting.

Well, now time passed and now it seems
Everybody's having them dreams.
Everybody sees themselves walkin' around with no one else.
Half of the people can be part right all of the time,
Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time
I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
"I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours,"
I said that.

There is a beautiful paper trail of the the lies and deceptions leading up to the invasion of Iraq. There is a beautiful paper trail of corruption. The FDA for example. The bad science. There is a beautiful paper trail of crimes against women and children. The plan B pill for example. The first person to put forth the blank check arguement was Robert Byrd, the racist from West by god Virginia.. There were 20 other senators who voted against the war. Funny thing is they did not get much ink, they did not get their sound bytes on the evening news. Johnson got his check after the gulf of Tonkin.
Comparing the Administration's promotion of the war in Iraq with Nazi Reich Marshall Hermann Goring's propaganda before and during World War II, Byrd declared, "The emperor has no clothes. This entire adventure in Iraq has been based on propaganda and manipulation. Eight-seven billion dollars is too much to pay for the continuation of a war based on falsehoods." Sen. Robert Byrd, D-West Virginia
Sen. Robert Byrd, D-West Virginia, attempted Thursday to mount a filibuster against the resolution but was cut off on a 75 to 25 vote.

Byrd had argued the resolution amounted to a "blank check" for the White House.

Sen. Bob Graham of Florida was one of 21 Senate Democrats voting against the resolution.

"This is the Tonkin Gulf resolution all over again," Byrd said. "Let us stop, look and listen. Let us not give this president or any president unchecked power. Remember the Constitution."
Hey nothing is serious, nothing is important, we dance on the edge of a pit. Punch my ticket, pull my daisy.

Have you ever smelled a rotting corpse. I have not. I wonder if maybe we could come up with a new perfume or after shave. Help us to stay focused on what is happening. Maybe after 3000 americans die in Iraq the books will be balanced. Three thousand at the WTC and three thousand in Iraq. Ok now were even. I think I need to take a break. Tired of hearing conspiracy theories. We got fifty fucking years to deal with who and why the trade center was destroyed. It is going to be a long trip to convince the american electorate on 9/11 conspiracy.
On November 22, 1963 . (I will always have that day etched on my mind the rage against my mother, the feeel of her throat in my hands, the death of JFK set off all my pent up grief and anger about Crazy mike's death.) Now the truth is coming out about that day. The Mafia the Bay of Pigs all the stuff that the Warren commission missed Would it have made any difference if we had known all the truth about Kennedy murder? Would it have stopped that crazy war in viet nam from esculating from 16,000 trops to a half a million? It is counter productive for me to start wondering about 9/11 conspiracy theories. THe truh will come out. Sooner or later.
just fuk it, It is all a god dam fucking cosmic goof. I am laughing my ass off. I got to go look at some more of those hilarious pictures jimboloco posted of the baby meat, crispy critters.

Yeah all we need to do is get the truth out about those blood crazed reptiles from outter space who have teamed with those Jews to suck the blood of white virgins with the help of their nigger friends. Have you ever looked at any of the 9/11 conspiracy sites?

There is something worse going on
The truth about 9/11 is worse than the conspiracy theories
George W Bush is the most dangerous puppet who has ever been in that office. We need a regime change. We need Ghandi's wheel. We need some fresh blood, we need to accentuate the positive, build on that base in the democratic party who did not go along to get along. That had the courage to stand against the lies.

Indeed, time for phase two of

"Operation Covert Genocide", as I've been calling it lately.

Really great, right on piece here Lrod, but this is not unusual.

If only the syndicates were braver about the truth.

Not since Pearl Harbor has an American government been handed such a blank check.
Yeah, you got this part, right on the mark.

I doubt that a bomb is going to explode in an American public restroom at the Super Bowl to push us up to the next level of involvement. If you're right about this, I'll send you $100.00, how's that? Let's give it until the end of the Bush administration for it to happen. If it happens before then, I'll owe you the $100.00. To be fair, let's broaden it to ANY Muslim terrorist-inspired act of major atrocity committed on American soil that provokes enough neocon outrage to get us involved in more overseas conflicts.

I'm not saying you're wrong about 9-11. There could have been upper level American complicity in that event. I just don't think they'd have the NERVE to do it again.

Nice call, though. If you're right, I owe you $100.00 ....

Beware of calls for war (9/14/01)

Our first natural response as human beings to the incredible violence of Sept. 11 is to reject and condemn the brutality and inhumanity of such actions, and to offer our condolences and compassion to the families and communities who lost loved ones. Everyone supports bringing the perpetrators of these attacks to justice, and it is prudent that preventive measures be taken to prevent such attacks in the future.

But fellow citizens, beware! We must not allow our emotions to blind us to the grave danger the current political situation presents to all who struggle for global peace and disarmament, and for social and economic justice.

The drumbeat of militarism and war is now sounding along the Potomac. A chorus calls for military action and "retaliation," and the language used makes it clear that this horrific tragedy will now be utilized as an opportunity to win public support for increases in the already bloated military and intelligence budgets.

Bipartisan support is now virtually assured for "missile defense" funding, and military contractors will undoubtedly take advantage of the political climate to push for for huge increases in the Pentagon budget. But will all this make us more secure?

Our nation is now reaping the result of an arrogant, militaristic and interventionist foreign policy. But rather than acknowledge and deal honestly with the root causes of violent terrorist actions, most prefer to pound their fists and expound about a "declaration of war." But the "war on terrorism" now being called for, like the so-called "war on drugs" before it, will have extremely costly and long- reaching implications for both U.S. citizens and people around the world.

This "war" is clearly not about bringing the perpetrators of the Sept. 11 actions to justice; it will end up being nothing less that a carte blanche for the launching of a military and economic offensive against designated "enemies," and to provide a rationale for stifling political dissent at home. The "war" now being hyped in Washington will increase, not decrease, the probability of future attacks on U.S. targets by those who feel dispossessed and oppressed by U.S. policies.

I say to the Bush administration and to Congress: No more wars in my name!
