Over the past few months I've been studying and practicing Buddhism.
I've been into meditation and as I began to study Buddhism my whole perspective in life has changed dramatically.
Lately I've been reading the book Against The Stream by Punk Monk Noah Levine. The book is excellent and has really helped me improve my practice and meditation. Lately though it seems the more I read the book the more loving-kindness there is in my heart. Yesterday I experienced an incredibly deep feeling of love for everyone around me in my heart. It was so powerful that I realized I had to share it with everyone around me. So I went around for the rest of the day and told everyone that I ran into that I knew a little to have a great day. I said it with a lot of feeling and really meant it, I wanted everyone around me to experience the profound happiness that I felt. Every time I said it I felt better and better and the love in my heart continued to grow, it became so powerful that it began to rub off on my friends and family drastically, and people even thanked me later, attributing their great day and mood to me. Today I decided to go around the cafeteria and tell everyone in my lunch to have a great day whether they were friends, strangers, or enemies. When I was done I had an incredible feeling of happiness and all my friends think I'm crazy now. But the best part was seeing how the other kids in my school reacted to receiving a sincere message of love:
Some stared up at me confused,
others thanked me a little confused and told me to have a great day too,
a few who had rarely received a kind word for their classmate were speechless,
and one very angry kid with a testosterone problem told me that he was going to stab me with a spoon.
I hope you enjoyed this story and I sincerely hope you have an incredible day.

This is an encouraging read--and my day is better for it. And it leads me to think of the power/beauty of speechlessness (a gift I don't tend to enjoy/employ).libberator wrote:a few who had rarely received a kind word for their classmate were speechless,
Performance notes for spoken poetry:
breathe deeply, in and out, and steadily
maintain a confidence in present-tense
reality— abscond yourself from pains
that may have parented the verses you
intend to share— this is not their time—
let columned posture tall repudiate
destructive fears that might calumniate
the courage called upon to wit, to rhyme,
to meter out the words you know are true
because you fashioned them that truth remains
within them— cast your thoughts upon the dense,
dark audience and trust it loves you readily—
and that believed is silence versed already.

Thanks for the support everyone it means a lot.
I'm still amazed at the results of my little crusade, often whenever I talk to people I told to have a great day, they thank me and tell me about the great day they had, some have even started saying it a lot too.
One friend called me yesterday just to thank me because when he was at the mall he had bought a big gum ball from one of those quarter machines he got two for the price of one by mistake. This friend told me that as he chewed on them he couldn't help but think that all the positive energy I had radiated out had caused him to get that extra gum ball. In that moment he experience a profound sense of joy and happiness.
It's great know that simple phrase said with meaning and sincerity can cause so many people to change their perspective and realize just how incredible and great this strange world really is.
Over the next week I plan on using my study hall time moving from class to class telling every single person in my school to have a great day and bringing a moment of pure loving kindness to everyone.
Once again have a great day and may love and happiness fill your hearts.
