You are right. If I was in charge of the troops and I did not have enough men to keep good order I would not sacrifice lives to protect those precious artifacts of the birth of our civilization. But that is the point. The war was ill-conceived
I see that John McCain has finally come out and said Rumsfeld is incompetent. Now that he has payed his dues to the republican party, I suppose he feels it is time to start running for office in 08. Hard to criticize him though, after what he went through. I have an older brother who was a flight surgeon he treated some of those POW's. He is now a pyschiatrist and I think he is a good one, one who knows medicine is an art not so much on the science. How those men survived and kept their sanity was an inspiration to him.
