I want you to understand, first of all, that I applaud your passion. Firsty.
And a very next second, I agree that massive changes need to be made to upgrade the quality of life here in Amerika for our children.

But I also know that incremental change has got to happen at least for now. There's no other way it will happen.

If I were the prez and her successors, I'd place a freeze cap on defense spending, then decrease it by 2.5% every year for ten years, for a 25% reduction over ten years. Meanwhile, I would begin a massive and thorough investigation into the General Accounting Office and audit every private defense contract. Those unable to account for lost funds would be penalised by that amount and would be blocked from further Federal contracts until said funds were accounted for and either justified or repaid.
Furthermore the appropriations committees would be made public and open for all meetings and declarations, all their biz would be made public.

I would reinstituute the progressive income tax for the wealthy.

The added revenues would be used for paying off national debt, specifically the corporate taxes and luxury taxes.

and the additional revenues available from defense dept savings would be used for social infrastructure, including monies to the states for education and healthcare.

I would not have a centralised single payer health care plan, but would reimburse the states for indigent care, which would be available to everyone. Catastrophic health insurance would be available to everyone yes. I would continue a combination or private and state supported health programs.

I would cap loan rates for education at the inflation rate or 3 % whichever is higher.

I would bring home all overseas Natinal guard troops and redeploy our overseas troops home from Europe, Japan, the Phillipines,.

I would open up Guantanamo to intenational peacekeeping forces for protection in case of hurricaines and other natural disasters.


After ten years I would propose fuurther cuts in the private contracts for missiles, star wars, nuclear subs, and continue the trensformation of federal contracts away from massive high-tech stealth contracts to more humane effores, light rail systems throughout.
and so forth.

I would reverse the recent bill debunking the bill of rights and reinstate the bill of rights without exception.

I would have a public investigation of America's complicity in the nerve gas killings of the Kurds by Saddamn's Iraqis.

I would join with NATO, as well as the internationl community via the United Nations in maintaining a real peace in places with ongoing fratricide instead of a militarist policy that supports the undustrial elite in their greed for raw materials and oil.

I would not block third world nations who are practicing humanitarian policies, like Venezuela, from joining the UN security council.

I would force Israel to adopt a defensive posture towards it's neighbors and have no-fly zones for Israeli aircraft in Lebanon, the West Bank, and Gaza, and stop the flow of weapons and armaments there, aside from truly defensive materials, which would be subject to scrutiny.

I would join with the international community in having America support the improvement of the infrastructure of the land and people surrounding Israel.

And Firstly, I would stop demonizing other countries who have different opinions from the neo-cons.

Well, that's about it. I would use the Center for Defense information to advise and counsel in the transformation of the nilitary-defense complex into a more rational and effeciant and effective assembly.
