in the belly of the beast ....

Post by whimsicaldeb » November 18th, 2004, 1:42 pm

"You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato.-- Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol
a bit of undigested beef
in the belly of the beast .....

that's what it feels like

is there "more of gravy then of grave" about this?

will we (all 55million undigestable bits)
be able to distrub the beast's belly enough
so that the ghosts of america's past, present & future
will unfold in their full spectral magnificence of terror
in the hearts and mind of the parts of 'us' that need the reminders

and will i (we/us) -- as the bit, the blot, the crumb
remember (to look & keep sound within)
thus keeping our compassion

that there was .....
the loney childhood, the lost loves, the causes of the past
the current joys
and abundant future blessings

as we kneel at the hem of the specter of death

WOW!
Just had a member of our local Tampa Bay Vets for Peace (see website) inform us all that he was moving to Costa Rica....He's a cool guy my age who also was in Vietnam, passionately anti-Dumbya, anti-war./ He told me that in the near future we would see horrors in this country, creeping fascism.
I let him know that i am staying
in the belly of the beast.
I can understand why someone would want to live in a situation where the daily life is filled with such personal and joyous cultural concerns and NOT dealing with rapturous "left-behind" fanatics, militarism unbounded, WAR suckass WAR.....stupid "moralities" that are unimportant.
My friend is gay.
What Costa Rica would hold for him is possibly a taking leave of heavy concerns and a return to a more simple lifestyle.
But my anger keeps me here, as much as my family, and the stupidity that dominates. Love it or leave it, yah, mon.
Of course Dickens' Scrooge had his epiphany.
He was a nice old rich guy when he woke up.
Our shared wealth is a disciplined or a stubborn determination to brew a potion of such potency that the national sentiment will change, culturally that is.
A pot plant in every household. Open the doors of perception, somehow.
Compassion and being pissed make a mighty brew.
THANKX.
