It seems so obvious to me that Bush is going to run out the clock.

Pass the war off to the democrats. Then he will be able to blame them for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.




I think it was Time Russert who asked a republican senator if he thought that was what Bush was going to do. He mentioned the Weimar effect. How many people in Germany still thought they were winning the war in 1918. How many people thought we were winning the war in Vietnam.

Pardon me I have to go find my american flag lapel pin.
