I saw an ad on TV this week of a mother whose son is in Iraq, stating that we have got to let the military win the Iraq war so that her son's service will not be in vain, to protect us from having another Septembet 11th.
She had tears in her eyes.
They keep on spinning it, as well as spinning more lies about the Vietnam War.
Trouble is, close to 50% of the people here in America believe it.
Hopefully this time around we will be able to outnumber them by at least 1 fucking %.
If it were only that simple, fight them over there, so ya don't have to fight them here. First of all, eight years lapsed between the first World trade center bombing and 9/11/01. ya don't think they will try again?
What have we done by keeping those guys locked up in GITMO? What have we learned with our nefarious torturing techniques? nada .
When will airplanes explode in mid-air from packages filled with explosives in some baggage compartmant? When will sappers come in thru a port facility, and/or bombs, or other types of weaponry? we never did what we were supposed to do about these things.
Second, we allowed A Q to span new breeding grounds, which only last week resulted in the assassination of a local Sunni leader in Iraq who had trucked with American militarios.we armed tne Muhajadeen in Afghanistan and they finished the job on the Soviets, then carried on with their own mission, the taliban and guess-who? We are arming both Sunni's and shihites, and they will eventually proceed with their tribal, sectarian civil wars. But hey, Mr Hunt and the Texas oilmen lobby will have access to the Kurdish oil, never mind that we were complicent in their gassing by Saddamn 25 years ago.
It is absurd, the deeper we dig, the more shit we will turn up.
we need to keep plugging away, staying informed, and writing, speaking out when the opportunity happens.
and oh heay, several of the soldiers who wrote a disparaging advertisement of the Iraq War have since died over there, the ultimate stamp of waste upon young bravehearts who should have been better employed.
