"The War"

Post by e_dog » September 22nd, 2007, 4:15 pm

What's up wit tis Ken Burns docu.? any mention init o' Dresden? Nagasaki and Hiroshima as war crimes not just natural disasters o' necessities of America's war?

Why now? Support da troops. War propaganda.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

"President Bush said Monday the Iraq war is 'straining the psyche of our country' but leaving now would be a disaster."
A moron speaking oxymorons..................

WAR = DISASTER!!!

(edit to post:) before anyone starts freaking out at me, yelling "support our troops", let me tell you that my son is a Marine...........the troops didn't start this war.

I am recording this series
it is more in depth than you may want to believe
they interviewed 500 people from 4 locations in 4 corners of america and weeded out those whose opinions were grandiose and looked for opinions that were conflicted, genuine

a lotta guys from the lincoln brigades also fought in ww2 as did my sister's godfather, who is a quaker and has been against both the vietnam war and the iraq war

it's about weeding the chaff from the wheat

it's better than propaganda
sure it won't show connections between american industrialists and the german arms manufacturers, will bbe watching for an assessment of this series in the Nation and will post.

some ex-marines are among the most liberal-progressive citizens in america today
it is unfortunate that they are manipulated into nefarious wars
but criticising specific wars is not the same as criticising the soldiers

i posted a story/letter about an iraq war vet ex-marine who committed suicide written as a memoir by his mother, with a reply from her

these are brave young people who are used by wealthy neo-con artists for profit and irrational power mongering without conscience. that's what pisses me off.
