On Friday the Chilean Supreme Court ordered him to be extradited back to Peru to faces charges of corruption and sanctioning massacres by paramilitary death squads.
Fujimori ruled Peru from 1990 to 2000. In the 1990s Fujimori defeated an insurgency led by the Maoist Shining Path guerilla group. He now faces charges of unleashing a death squad of military intelligence officers responsible for killing 25 people in two separate massacres.

What about them Shinin' Path? Shame they've been "defeated". No leftist left. Just dictators like Castro, as Bush says.

Fujimori was an extreme corrupt neoliberalist in a country with lot of people leading with poverty. He must be in prison the same as ex-jeque Saúl Menem (he is not).

And Shining Path killed tourists of all sorts, merely for their valuables, as well as farmers and peasants who refused to sign on with Maoism. Fujimori may have been corrupt: he wasn't out in the countryside killing people at will like Guzmon or whatever his name was and his guerillas (and the same shit goes down in Columbia and other parts of SA. Communists are the ones with bloodstained hands)

Sure seems that way when you only read one-sided accounts written by reactionaries and their witting or unwitting liberal lackeys. The Right is free of all blame, right.

Nyet. Not really a permissable inference: I did not say that. The old colonial system (still in place in some areas of SA) was probably miserable for many. But when the proles get rolling (as they did in USSR, china, and now SA), stay out of the f-n way--even white boy leftists do well to get out of the f-n way. Marx was certain there was some essential goodness to workers and peasantry, which made them superior to booj-wah and management: he was mistaken.

Property is Theft, dude! Standard Red lie, er line.
I am not claiming that marxist ideas are all BS, anyway. I'm merely pointing out that the supposed crimes of Fujimori/rightists are matched if not exceeded by the atrocities committed by groups such as Shining Path, or the Columbian reds, and other communists in SA.

In Colombia, the so-called "left" rebels is committing far less atrocities than the rightwing paramilitaries. that's fact.
Chiquita bandana.
PERU too. Shining Path no use violence 'cept as reaction to statesponsored violence n opression.
even so, too wrongs don't makea right, only The RIGHT. Fujimori's going to jail. Cry a tear for 'im.

BS. The columbian lefts' crimes are well-documented. Strapping a timebomb to some woman's head (even a boooj-wah woman) , and then trying to extort money from family and friends before it goes off: that's a crime, indeed an outrage. That's a typical columbian trick.
You're mistaken on the senderos as well. I have met people who were robbed in Peru by the maoists, and they weren't Nixon supporters, nor even republicans. Its all sexay and romantic until say some of your family members are touring incan ruins and maoists stop the bus and start to rob, rape, and then kill the few "conservatives" who protest. It may not be as bad as it was 15 years ago: but there were all sorts of outrages committed by the SL.

True enough. But only part of the story. yOU'RE IGNORING THE OTHER SIDE. Anyways, the name Shining Path's just a ploy to make em sound llike Stephen King crazy characters. It's the Enlightened Path.
Likewise, in Colombia its well documented that Today, the AUC is committing more crimes than the FARC(e).

luminoso, like lighted. The Path of Lights. Lined with like skulls on stakes on both sides! How cool. Fun if yr a par-tay member. They also grow cocaine. What in the fuck could be better? Coke-growing maoists, who get to rob, rape, pillage.

curious but the name Sendero Luminoso me recuerda Lighting Rod, it was the first association I had (don´t worry, it´s only significante bullshit

).
I have faith in peruvian people and I don´t want for example the argentine government having a cruzada against the surviving peruvian maoists....
When you are angry and conscious of an explotation situation is very easy to be extreme too, but of course that´s not a justification for killing or also abuse local people or tourists, (at least in my present chair view).
Anyway, I´m happy about Fujimori´s news.
