I particularly like the general's comment that "wearing a shoulder patch . . ."
will "lend credibility" to the combat situation . . .
I wonder how many bullets cross his desk headed for his vital organs every morning?
War is conceived of by old men and fought by very young men.
37,000 eligible to earn their patches ( and their bandages, body bags and coffins . . .)
I lost several members of my highschool graduating class ( class of '63) in the Vietnam War-- some personal friends.
