English Archbishop approves of Sharia

Post by Totenkopf » February 19th, 2008, 11:52 pm

Chris Hitchens on Slate:
A BBC interview with Williams had him saying that the opening to sharia would "help maintain social cohesion." If that phrase is even intended to mean anything, it can only imply that a concession of this kind would lessen the propensity to violence among Muslims. But such abjectness is not the only definition of social cohesion that we have. By a nice coincidence, a London think tank called the Center for Social Cohesion issued a report just days before the leader of the world's Anglicans and Episcopalians capitulated to Islamic demands. Titled "Crimes of the Community: Honour-Based Violence in the UK," and written by James Brandon and Salam Hafez, it set out a shocking account of the rapid spread of theocratic crime. The main headings were murder and beating of women, genital mutilation, forced marriage, and vigilante methods employed against those who complained. It could well be—since we are becoming every day more familiar with the first three—that the fourth is the one that should concern us most.
That should offend anyone who values the Constitution, or secularism of any sort.

That's not really a warranted inference, if you are serious: though it's not impossible: Obama does have ties to muslims, as well as to churchies all over the USA (as satire it doesn't really make it either, though anyone who dislikes the English monarchy can't be all bad).

This sort of parody-by-implication seems funny for, like, at least 30 seconds or so. Those humans who do value secularism should be aware of Obama's theocratic tendencies: more Christian than muslim, really. He campaigned in protestant churches all over the US on "40 days of Faith and Phamily" during the Fall. You might not care for Hillary or McCain but they haven't done nearly as much biblethumping (or Koran-thumping) as has Reverend Obama.

Either way, the post was not about BO, but about the Anglican church which now acknowledges the muslim code of sharia . Pour out that Cabernet, infidel, and turn off your pagan muzak. I shallah

You think Islam a laughing matter, ST? It's not.

Read the essay by Hitchens, bitte. Then respond.

Maybe not, but I find the English. hysterically funny...Hard to beat them when it comes to bloody history.

I found your opening comment about the British constitution amusing. I just ran with that.

It is as funny as a fart in a space suit, is it not?

We don't need no stinking arch bishops, we got Huckabee.

Shira Law similiar in some ways to the fundamentalist christian law

I find Hitchens kind of weird.

Or at least he seems kind of clueless about the Amurican people. But the article was really about Britian wasn't it? Some how I don't see what it has to do with us.

Speaking about Islamic crimes against women:
Strange how many people are converting to Islam these days, a lot of Latinas Like jumping out of one patriarchial frying pan into another.

sorry for the ramble

It's all phun and games until the Imams shut down the par-tay, start smashing things up, locking up the infidel, putting the women in their burkas (already happening in Britain and France). More mosques than churches in England now. It might be kept in mind that Shackaspeare 's not performed in muslim countries either.

Yes, e-comic, Ghastly! Ever read about like last years of the Ottoman Turks, circa 1890-1920 or so? Some good comedic material there too. 2 to 3 million armenians, greeks, syrian xtians, quite a few jews, exterminated in the name of the prophet. Some pics online if you are interested (tho' the heads on spikes might not go over too well on S8.

Maybe you could like make a cool greetin' card about it.

Keep workin' those non sequitors, tho. (Ottoman Turks? Not shariah-ists they, eh?) Good line of work.
