What's with the media anyways?
I mean geez, I thought Obama was spot on on how he handled their silly, Hillary overseen type questions. It was like they took their questions from her....as if they feel so sorry for her, or perhaps, they owe her something?, that they tried everything to slam him down, but in my view he showed no sign of falling for it.
Now, this morning, they are saying it was a "bad night" for Obama?
Hell, who is really out of touch here? The media?
Or are they all just cuckholded by the Clintons?
We the "unpeople" must be contained.
I mean really, am I missing something here?

I heard on the radio that according to the Obama camp, he "won" the debate and according to the Clinton camp, she "won" the debate. Typical.
I didn't see it this time but heard some clips on the news. I wish they'd talk about more than defending themselves from the slams by each other.
What happened to discussions about the economy and healthcare and the environment?
It was great at first!
Now it seems to be more like a dodge ball game.

Dear Hester:
Here's a fine overall analysis of "what's wrong with the media . . ." by Glenn Greenwald on Amy Goodman's DEMOCRACY NOW.
In this interview, Greenwald analyzes the overall structure and dynamics of American "journalism" at the present time which accounts for the silliness of the TV program to which you refer.
I didn't see the program, but I read transcripts and much analysis of it, from both the right and the left.
Here's the link to Greenwald's interview:

I like Melissa Block, too.
Especially also 'cause she's married to Stefan Fatsis, author of the delightful book, "Word Freak."

Zlatko, I heard that interview the other day on the radio. Thanks for posting the link to the transcript so others who missed it can read it. Good to see you! Hope you've been well. We've missed you around here.
Have you gotten your copy of "Infinite Tide" yet? Your artwork and poetry graces the pages! I believe you have more contributions in there than any of the others. And we are honored! Would love to hear your review of the anthology when you have some time.

Wow.
Thank you so much for posting that article Zlatko.....
although I found it depressing, it rings true.
We are surrounded by a bunch of in-charge monkeys, throwing shit and keeping their old, outworn bananas young via viagra type delusions. DAMN IT PISSES ME OFF, INSULTS THE HELL OUT OF ME!
I mean, that the media thinks the american people only want crap stories is preposterous and all the more reason for Americans to turn to Barack Obama, as he is the only one standing up to this machine, and saying the things that most American people are feeling.
I think the gov. machine is afraid of that, afraid of Obama, he's too much like the rest of us, i.e. like Chomsky says, we must keep the "unpeople" harnessed and controlled....
Fuck Hillary, Fuck McCain.
More betrayers, that's all, more royalty, elitist double-talk.
Go ahead, lose everything to these liars, fools.
Bleah.

All in the service of "sales", as e-dog rightly states, Hester . . .
This country and its mass media know how to sell, and live or die through sales. Movie stars and their suicides, early and accidental deaths, agonies and drunken driving are just sales boosters, slammed together on TV with the deaths of twenty civilians as it is claimed by the government that " the Surge is succeeding . . ."
Someone ( probably Scott Ritter) pointed out that we have the colossal gall to claim " we're disappointed with the Iraqis . . ." after destroying their country, raping their daughters, vaporizing their children, accidentally mowing them down when our hired hit-men mercenaries "exercise bad judgment", and tearing them apart psychically with our combination of bombs, lies and good intentions . . .
All this while President Dunceball remains " very comfortable with himself . . ."
The most accurate satirical film I've seen depicting this state of media affairs with biting wit and a remarkably accurate portrayal is "Wag the Dog" . . .
