Oh my goddess.
This is a very unsettling story...why isn't it more publicized????
I mean, is this the GB army...religion based
Kill people in the name of God? the greatest excuse of all, step right up?
We knew it! It's coming out now.
I have to go and pace around for awhile after reading this one...

That'll be an awfully difficult lawsuit to win. How do you prove you were passed over for promotions, for example? Besides, what's a little evangelical charade for awhile? I mean, the Army is already converted to doing the dirty work of shoddy demagogues in service of the emerging religion of Imperial New World Order Global Econ!

Kidding. Sort of.

Actually, Jeremy is a smart man. Once you hit those foxholes, all bets are off. To trust that your one and only God (evangelical-style) will protect you and smite your enemies, is to trust that somehow your God is mightier than your enemy's God.

yes
so now we know why there are no atheists in fox holes.
I have wondered about that old saying for months even years
I could not express it until you did it for me
very nice riff. 8)

Whose god is winning these days, I wonder if you can get odds on that in Las Vegas?

Another group, the Officers' Christian Fellowship, has representatives on nearly all military bases worldwide. Its vision, which is spelled out on the organization's Web site, reads, "A spiritually transformed military, with ambassadors for Christ in uniform empowered by the Holy Spirit." - CNN article in part
I'm amazed at the lack of true patriotism these 'believers' have. Judging by the article, this armed Christianity has infiltrated the entire US military complex. An evil sign that parallels the Islamic jihadists - there is no difference. But there needs to be a difference in the U.S. military if for no other reason, our military is to protect the nation and the Constitution which allows for religious freedom and not only a fundamentalist (evangelical) Christianity.

Clearly the Supreme Court, if this disease goes far enough, should strike down the elitism of the evangelical religion, but since it has been almost completely stacked by the Conservative right, the need for a President that upholds the Constitution is absolutely necessary for this upcoming election. If the Supreme Court gets fully stacked with the Conservative Right wing judges there could be great problems. Conceivably, we will be worshiping Jesus and the red, white and blue in a strange and twisted religion that allows for no diversity other than their own biblical interpretation, the Constitution as we know it be damned.

well it's true
there is a reactionary orthodox conservatism Christianity perfused thruout th military
and yes it fits right into th over reaching political-economic, imperial goals of th multi-national corps an th elite,
so why not encourage such a pernicious perfidy
a military force of true believers
that th mission is god odained

an fortunately there is also an oppositional force
i heard th guy
he's an airfarce acadummy grad
a lawyer innew mexico
and jewish
his son was also a student at th acadummy
an he had fierce pressures to convert

there was a big scrap about it
ah there it is in th article posted above
Michael Weinstein, a retired senior Air Force officer and founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, is suing along with Hall. Weinstein said he's been contacted by more than 8,000 members of the military, almost all of them complaining of pressure to embrace evangelical Christianity.

Kinda makes one feel hopeless, doesn't it Hes' ? I wish I could say all things will change in favor of the majority with the next election, but I'm not convinced about that yet.

Hey, jimbo... I hope they'll so some good, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation... but the mold has been cast and the force is in the favor of the Armed Xtians (AX ?) at this point. Time will tell and I hope it's in the favor of the Constitution.

Indeed, it certainly doesn't do "God" any favors......
Who knows, maybe it will be a salvation from all the God abuse, which is every which way you look y'know?
Pretty soon the drug companies will be prescribing christianity drugs, drugs to be taken that make you a christian, hell to those that don't pop em, by jove.
The army of God. Yeah it's the lamest of all excuses.
Good grief. How stupid do we have to get?

Hes' - "Good grief. How stupid do we have to get? "

err, did you mean 'how much more stupid..?'

You're so right... "talkin' bout our devo-lution... our devo-lution!"

Are you curious about 2012? With all the strangeness going on, I wonder then re-wonder if there isn't something going on... it's like worldwide, this mega-weirdness on all fronts. god! (haha!) it seems like we're so stressed out, and not just u.s.a.

I really know there are answers to the whole fucked up thing but it takes time to assimilate all the crap and put it together so there is some semblance of sense... in the meantime...

It interests me how the white house is fighting to keep the secrete service visitor logs from being released under the Freedom of Information Act. A group of concerned citizens wants to know how frequently prominent conservative religious figures have been visiting the white house.
